Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint - Hammered White Finish 750ML, 5092971

This, as we all know, is a great product. 'It does what it says on the tin ' I actually used it on an old marquee/tent frame which had a lot of rust spots on it. As I was turning the frame into a washing line support pole network I didn't want rust stains on my sheets or other whites. This did the job nicely, so I then painted my rusty old wheelbarrow which will give it several more years of use. I'm never any good at working out how much paint I'll need for anything, so I still have plenty left for any other little jobs that I want to do.

It does what it says on the tin !

I double checked the tin - it was labelled as 'hammered finish' but appeared on application to be absolutely pure smooth white gloss. I haven't used hammerite for a few years, but I'm sure that when I last used white - there was a sort of an eggshell (hammered!!) finish to the paint once applied. So not sure if it's a change of formula or a mislabelled tin. Either way - it wasn't quite what I expected.

Hammerite is a name that has a reputation for quality in rust treatment. I have used it before but this time it was to tidy up a 1950's American metal swing seat. Very pleased with the finish and we will have to wait and see about the longevity!!

It is an exceptional paint that seals and cures rust and when applied correctly has a long life and is resilient to scratches.I've used it on our 1985 classic BMW 635 CSi inner wings/wheel arches and it's ideal even under extreme conditions of stones & other road debris hitting it

Have used this product many times before and does the job with very little preparation and paints straight onto rust and drys quickly.

a bit disappointed that some of the paint has chipped off after very light use on some garden chairs.
