I'm fairly new to Jamaican food, but I know what I like and I like the heat in my food. So one day we was at a food market and there was a bloke selling a jar of jerk paste. I won't name the company as it's a little independent company but I took the paste home and cooked some chicken and rice n' peas. Well I absolutely loved it! It is difficult to order from this particular company as they are small batch and with P&P and waiting time it worked out quite expensive - not knocking it, it was fantastic. I've tried a few supermarket big brand jerk chicken pastes and I've found then well, Meh. I was just hankering for that taste again and decided to order the Walkerswood 2 pack after a bit of review reading hoping to get a decent paste. To be honest this isn't really a paste per se it's more like a very thick sauce. Well, last week did the thing, marinaded overnight with chopped onions and fresh coriander with cling film over the top in the fridge ( just because I love coriander) cooked it over the BBQ with plenty of smoke and yeah. In a few hours time I'll be doing the same again, put the marinade in last night and looking forward to it again. It's nice and hot got the Madras heat in it, but it's also got the toffee sweetness, and a very. decent. kick. for all us chilli heads without overloading the taste of the chicken. Definitely my second go to now I know more of Caribbean food, and if the place I bought from the market ever goes bust, then I'll stick with Walkerswood because it just gives me that - craving if you know what I mean ;)

Tend to buy this particular brand as it makes a great chicken or pork dish into a delicious mealUnfortunately on this occasion once unwrapped it was clear that one jar was smashed at the bottom and the glass shards were small but seemed intact,Amazon policy is no refund on food items but spoke to them and was issued with a full refund and told to keep undamaged jar.Reason I gave 5 * is because on the many occasions I’ve ordered this I’ve enjoyed it thoroughly

Not tasting any of tge ingredients mentioned on label. Being a jamaican I'm so disappointed

The delivery company must have damaged the product on delivery, however, the seller went over and beyond to drop a replacement as he had orders to fulfil in my local area the next day.Great customer service and comms from the seller

Price was too high especially when I saw it in Tesco the following week for around £2 a jar! But the actual seasoning is great and nice and spicy.
