Really happy with the Kobo
Really glad I went with the Kobo libre colour. I've wanted a ereader for the last few years, used an old tablet during that time but didn't like how quickly the battery ran out or the general bloat of a none specific device.Spent quite a long time reading reviews, watching YouTube views and trying to weight the pros and cons of kindle vs kobo.Went with Kobo due to this model being colour, having no obvious restrictions and having almost no cons. Very happy I did.Its extremely comfortable to hold, the buttons to change page are easy to reach one handed and the response time seems quick.I did mess around with some of the font sizes, the lighting etc to get it to how I wanted.Battery life is really good, it's been a few weeks since I charged it and still has plenty of life. This obviously depends on how much you are reading but for me is perfect.

Great for an e-reader, able to see in all light conditions
Great for an e-reader, the colours won’t match an OLED screen, but have an awesome quality to them and you can read in all light conditions.I’ve found the library is comparable to other e-reader systems.

First class e-reader
After a couple of weeks using this Kobo e-reader, I’m pleased to say it’s first-class and a great device. It’s light, has a great subtle coloured screen and is much faster than my previous Kobo Forma. The user interface is easy to grasp and has excellent touches such as a simple slide up and down gesture at one side of the screen to make the screen brighter or darker.I sold my Kindle Scribe which I found to be just too big and heavy and I am delighted with this Kobo instead.

Very good but don't expect too much from the colour screen.
I bought this to replace a much older Kobo reader after the screen stopped working. The colour screen isn't a big advantage as it looks dull and washed out. It's less comfortable than my old one because the back is flat, hard and slippery. It's slightly faster and the page turning seems a bit smoother. The buttons are a bit too stiff which doesn't help although I like the fact that you can swap them around. It's a very good ereader however and I use it a lot. The menus are intuitive and the selling point for me is the fact that you can easily download books from a laptop or PC. The screen size is about right and it's not too heavy. I travel a lot and this goes everywhere with me.

Easy to use and set up
Amazing e-reader, didn't know i needed the buttons or screensize increase, but now can't imagine it any other way. It's quick and easy to use and set up, too. Battery lasts a long time, and all the settings are amazing. The colours are as good as they can be on an e-ink reader. Highly recommend

Excellent ereader
Colour is just a novelty and not needed for a book reader imo. If you want a nice colour book cover shown when you're not reading then this is a great device. If you want the crispiest sharpest screen while reading get the black and white version as the screen is much brighter but honestly both colour and black and white versions and fantastic devices.

Aggressively, disastrously bad
Display looks rubbish - lots of ghosting. But the fatal flaw is the defective touch screen - pressing at a given location will occasionally produce no results, occasionally produce the intended result and occasionally (very often!) result in the device thinking you're tapping somewhere entirely or in multiple places.Consequently you end up frequently changing your font size to something ridiculously large or small. Sometimes going back rather than forwards. Sometimes causing the menu to appear when you don't want it or failing to have it appear when you do.Total disaster. I mean presumably mine is unrepresentative - I hope so for rakuten's sake.

Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Absolutely love this! Works brilliantly, have had no issues with the hardware or software. The device is lightweight and having buttons really improves the experience.I love the Kobo store (less pushy than rivals). When reading the font, margin, spacings can all be adjusted to taste really easily. The swipe on the left side (up and down) makes adjusting brightness simple and quick.Colour is a novelty for me as I'm not a big consumer of comics. So I only really notice when the current book cover appears when the device is sleeping / on standby, which is a nicety no more than that really. I don't annotate or use notes. I'm solely a reader. All in love fully recommended. One caveat. Kindle has a lot of books, author exclusively. Especially true of self published authors; so one thing to consider. Not an issue for me personally.
