i ordered this product following a conversation with my eldest son-in-law; his is the same type but all plastic construction. I thought the stainless steel would be easier for me to push into the pineapple but unfortunately as I am now 86 years old I don't have the strength to push it into the fruit.My son was able to use it easily and also my eldest grandson; he and his family love pineapple and last weekend when they came for lunch he prepared the pineapple and was very pleased with the result. I therefore decided to buy a second one for them. There was a lot of juice with neat pieces; my great grandchildren (aged 8 and 5) loved watching the fruit being 'sliced' and of course eating it. It is a really good gadget.

This is a really handy tool that cores and slices a pineapple in seconds. It’s easy to use, and the included chunk accessory is a great bonus — it quickly turns the slices into bite-sized chunks with minimal effort.The only downside is that it doesn’t work as well on smaller pineapples — it can cut through the sides, which causes juice to leak out and reduces the amount of usable fruit. I’ve found it works much better with larger pineapples, which tend to be sweeter anyway. I now go for the bigger Jaffa pineapples (about £1.60 at Tesco), which give the best results.Overall, a great time-saving kitchen gadget for pineapple lovers — just be sure to pick the right size fruit!

Was very easy to use, but not great on large pineapples.

One of those products that just works!Was sceptical on ordering that it would do the job well and it did!Not much wasted and cuts perfectly uniform slices.Much cheaper than buying pre-prepared pineapple and much nicer than tinned!

Overall I would give 3.5 out of 5:Pros1. Small unit doesnt take up too much room in the kitchen and easy to store with other utensils.2. Blades are very sharp and cut into pineapples with very little ease when twisting to scoop the flesh out.3. Metal body is sturdy enough to manage to cut pineapple with not alot of force however you do need a little bit of elbow grease but nothing tedious to break a sweat.Cons1. Too expensive for the price you pay and the quality you are getting for £11.99, i would expect a very durable and tough cutter, the build of the handle is very cheaply made from plastic. The handle should be made from a durable and tough plastic or metal considering your cutting a pineapple.2. wedge cutter is also made from a cheap plastic and although it cuts the pineapple into small chunks it struggles to cut through the last ring of pineapple at the bottom, if your looking for the wedge cutter to cut in large chunks this one is not for you.considering the price of the item, the pineapple wedge should have some blades to allow to cut the the pineapple all the way through with ease.Overall it does get the job done with relative ease however it isnt a silkly smooth process due to overall build and durability as mentioned above and for £11.99 which in my honest opinion is a very premium price for a pineapple cutter didnt really meet to my expectation that being said it took me only 10 mins to cut 3 large pineapples into chunks so cant complain.Would I recommend this pineapple cutter?Hmmm - Yes and No, if your looking for a pineapple cutter and couldnt care less about price and just want an item that gets the job done then yes this would be for you, if you want a bvery good quality product with very good and durability, then its a no unfortunately.
