Practical and simple tool featuring ALL yoga bodies!
The Trauma-Informed Yoga Card Deck by Joanne Spence is far from overwhelming. I consider it a new favorite resource as it is a simple yet practical tool. The layout is spiral bound so your cards do not get lost, and it fits easily in a bag for toting to class, taking on a trip, or setting on the corner of your desk. There are practices to help you feel calm, energized, and balanced, and some to guide you in meditation. While you could move between the cards to create a sequence, you can also simply open up the deck and use it for centering before your next meeting or gathering. The simple instructions are - simple! And my favorite part of this mini-book is by far the photos. There are real people with real bodies of all shapes, sizes, skin tones, and seasons of life featured in these practices. It’s a delight to see ALL kinds of bodies practicing yoga. There is not one kind of a yoga body, we all have yoga bodies.Joanne has created a lovely resource for students who may be new to yoga or who need a reminder of the benefits of practicing, but also for teachers who want a practical companion to lead from. It's a great little tool for your toolkit!

anyone, anywhere, anytime
I've been keeping this gem of a book handy for the past several months to reach for like a healthy snack when my body calls for it. As a relative newcomer to yoga in my early 60s, I find the clear instructions, photos, color-coding of potential effects, and especially the practice sequences tremendously helpful. This resource enables me to take a few sips of yoga, as it were, anytime, anywhere, as often as I'd like. Of all the purported self-care tools out there for sale in the world, this one is the real deal. I love it.

Looks good but incompatible
This doesn't work on the cloud reader, which is where I needed to read it.

This book is a great help.
This book was loaned to me when I was going through a difficult period. I found it helpful enough that I soon purchased my own copy so that I could return the original. The book is small, but sturdy. Each practice (activity) takes no more than a few minutes. You can choose to do any number or combination of them; or follow one of several sequences given by the author. Much of the focus is on the breath. For me, the book helps with relaxation as well as reducing tension and stress. I like it very much and use it almost daily.

Joanne has Done it Again!
Joanne is expert at taking the mystery out of yoga. Her new card desk is the perfect companion to her book on Trauma -Informed Yoga. Small and portable, this little gem is a take-along for every day use. As you go through it, you can develop a practice that suits your needs. The photos of real people with REAL bodies make this spiral-bound book even better than a deck of cards. The color coding is brilliant. Congratulations, Joann on another terrific tool for the tool chests of beginners and veterans alike!

This isn't what I thought, tbh.
I didn't see pictures or reviews of the actual information inside this deck. I thought there would be actual yoga poses& that's what I was looking for. It's mostly just sitting breathing exercises though. I do have PTSD, among other things& my fitness trainer does say I need to work on my breathing. So, I'll probably still try some of these, but it's not what I was looking for.
