Great mics...

these mics are so well made, as soon as you get them out the box they ooze quality. They come with a free mic bag and a mic clip. I bought two of these mics to mic up guitar amps and to use them for a bit of vocal work here and there and they are ideal, there rugged and not too expensive you worry about them getting damaged, i am thinking about buying another one so i can have the whole band miked up and will possibly make a youtube video on how good they are because there arent many to give you a taste of the sound quality.I highly recommend these mics!Edit: thurs 5 september- the mics are still going strong, I have used them for almost everything on my home recordings, my friend used one of them for rapping and decided to swing the thing round and managed to drop it head first into the floor but it seemed to hold up well with only a small dent on the pop filter! I thought it would have broken but obviously these mics will keep going strong for many years!

Pleasantly surprised by the quality.

I like to record vocals and acoustic guitar through my PC using Magix software and a Yamaha USB 4 channel interface. For vocals I have used various mics and mainly use Shure SM58 and they suit me fairly well. I had been using the guitar's on-board, under-saddle pickups or an SM58 to record the guitar parts but had never been happy with the sound reproduction. I had considered buying a more expensive directional mike for the guitar but while looking around came across the Audio-Technica MB2K and saw it had reasonable reviews. I am so glad I took the plunge and bought one: the output is clear and focused with a nice tonal balance. For its modest price I can highly recommend the product.

And trust me when i tell you that you do not get three times the quality in ANY area even with the very best. Audio Technica can

I've been using Audio Technica mic's since the early eighties. Both for vocals and instruments .I've had most of the high value brand mics that are three times +the price of most Audio Technica mic's. And trust me when i tell you that you do not get three times the quality in ANY area even with the very best. Audio Technica can hold thier own against them all. The build quality of the MB2K is exactly what you would expect. Superb. Heavy, solid, durable. The sound production is excellent and feedback is well handled in all situations. I've been using this one for my smallpipes and mandolin, amped by a Kinsman 15w busking amp. I'm getting a great sound. Basically, you are getting a mic that can stand in with a Shure SM57-8 and not shame itself in any way, shape or form, for half the price of either. Don't let the price fool you. This is a top quality Mic. Buy one. You'll love it.

Mellow sound.

This microphone is ideal for my acoustic guitar.I play the guitar quite close to the mic and the sound through the mic picks up the depth as well as the high timbre of the guitar. I am very well pleased with it. It is very sturdy and well-made and feels expensive.

... guitar amps in my home recording setup - a good lower-priced substitute for a stolen SM57

Works really well with my Focusrite Scarlett Solo and Garageband for miking guitar amps in my home recording setup - a good lower-priced substitute for a stolen SM57. Seems well-built and robust,. The sound is well balanced and reproduces the different characteristics of my various amps and guitars pretty well. A good workhorse mic.

Excellent for Guitar Amp

Wonderful microphone, used to mic up a small valve amplifier (Blackstar HT1R) for home recording and it sounds amazing. I achieved some great recordings, both with clean and overdriven sounds. The microphone feels very weighty and solid and the inclusion of an on/off switch is useful. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and at just over £40 it represents great value for money.

At thia price its a steal

Sounds fantastic, especially at this price. I bought it for recording live guitars which works great. Nice and bright which gives me lots of room for EQing. Ive ended up using it as a vocal mic, it doesnt handle plosives well at all, much less than an equivalent Shure so get a good pop filter if thats what you want to use it for. I needed a double filter and now sounds excellent. Very happy.
