Excellent Double-Oven Dual Fuel Range
I sold appliances for many years at a big box (think blue) retail store and over the past 10 years in our home we have gone from an all electric smooth top GE range to an all gas GE range with convection oven to now this unit and my wife absolutely loves it. Smooth top electric ranges don't cook very well because the burner comes on and off like a headlight. When you want simmer, for example, the burner comes on (at 100% like a headlight) and then goes off so the temperature is regulated by the amount of on/off cycles. For higher temps the burner is on more than off. Lower temps the burner is off more than on. Not very good temperature control so we switched to an all gas range with convection oven. Gas is great for a cooktop but it is not so good for baking, whereas, an electric oven is much more desirable for baking plus a single oven, gas or electric, is not as useful when baking things at the same time at different temps. (Think a casserole compared to biscuits.) The solution for us was this dual fuel double oven range. The gas cooktop provides fantastic, consistent temperature control and the dual electric ovens are great for a variety of baking needs. My wife bakes a lot of cookies and she loves the fact that she can use the top smaller oven for cookies or biscuits because it heats up quickly but does not add excessive heat to the kitchen. Meanwhile a roast or casserole can be baking in the lower oven at a different temperature for a different amount of time. The only problem with the lower oven is that it is difficult to put heavy or large things in it to bake because it is quite low to the ground. (Think getting down on hands and knees low as we are a little older). LG and Samsung make similar units at a much lower price but those brands in my experience are much more difficult to gets parts and service if something does happen to need repair. Domestic products like this GE or even Whirlpool/Maytag/Kitchenaid are much easier to obtain parts and service nationwide. All in all, this GE dual fuel double oven provides us with excellent flexibility for all our cooking and baking needs.

Absolute junk!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know which is more frustrating, the fact that one cannot put a large turkey or roast in the "large" oven or that it will not calibrate properly - I call an oven that is close to 100 degrees off a problem. The oven also heats unevenly - radically. Half of a tin of muffins rises while the other half does not. Cakes baked in this thing are a disaster. Cleaning the upper oven is a nightmare. The self-cleaning function is nearly dysfunctional. A simple gas stove that does not have all the bells and whistles that the Cafe has is much preferable. Oh, for my mother's 1950 Magic Chef stove.

Perhaps The Perfect Range/Oven!
Surface area of gas range--SUPERIOR!! No back panel or knobs on the surface! This means IT'S ALL FOR COOKING! And 6 burners!! Yes, no useless "oval burner" in the middle. You can put the griddle on if needed but, with it off you have USEFUL burners!! Gas is the only way to go for the range--and the burners have the best flame pattern I've ever seen. Even a "dual ring" called "super boil" on front left. And the oven YOU WANT ELECTRIC for accurate ambient temperature--this one is AWESOME!! So, nice--even has temperature probe and a nice slide out/adjustable racks. The top oven is larger that most dual ovens--AND IT IS ITS OWN OVEN. No fake double front doors--IT IS TWO COMPLETELY SEPARATE ovens!! Who ever designed this oven KNOWS how to cook and knows what we've all been wanting all these years--Look no further--this oven is the BEST EVER!!

Cheap labor and materials for this range
I bought this unit ( even the better one Cafe ) and I was shocked. Black metallic inside shelves ( cheap ), on the back the labor exposed the inside insolation ( like someone did some work after).Long story short this unit is good for third world civilizations not USA!Do not buy
