A brilliant tool,
I've been using this soldering iron every day since i got it, have found nothing to contain about. The excellent warm up times (virtually non existent, not once have I been found waiting for heat, turn it on, get comfortable and the heat is there) lightweight and comfortable to hold, as seen in another review, it is possible to press the on-off or temp control switches by accident whilst using, but it is easily rectified by picking it up differently. Mine came complete with assorted tips, which are excellent, a nice roll of solder which is great, and other bits like a little stand/top cleaning sponge which admittedly isn't the most sturdy or sized stand around but it works , and better than nothing if bought for a beginner. I did notice the rubber cable boot , where the cable enters the unit had become loose, once but that was due to my method of wrapping the cable up, twisting it which would leave the cable prone to damage and uneven wear but it took me ½second to screw it back, nowhere was user safety compromised, even without this sleeve there are no live electrical parts or cable exposed.Definately recommend buying this, I can see it being a help to a novice or beginner to soldering, with its fast heat up, easy user controls and digital display. Or even a more advanced user would struggle to find any fault worth mentioning.

Cheap and Almost Cheerful
Pros: an on/off switch, which is a massive safety improvement over some stuff on market; temperature control is excellent - simple plus/minus buttons to set working temperature you want, then each time you turn it on you see the temperature on the display rise to that level and stay there. Cons: the supplied stand is better than nothing, but too small and flimsy - you have to be really careful that the weight and tension of the power lead doesn't topple the whole thing. Barrier to prevent fingers and thumb slipping into hot area is not substantial enough. Instructions are hopelessly inadequate - not a hint anywhere about how to change the tip. So you have to make a choice between 2 possibilities: unscrewing the plastic screw collar or the metal one. I found neither would budge manually, but eventually shifted the metal one with some pliers - purely by chance the right choice, after which it became self-evident what you do next. Other than that, instructions re 'Power on/off' and 'Temperature adjustment' were comprehensible, but 'Temperature calibration' was frankly surreal - e.g.:'1. After 90 seconds of power on, put the welding head on the thermometer, and add solder (appropriate amount) to the welding head to make the thermocouple of the thermometer fully contact with the welding head. 2. About 4 seconds after the temperature of the isothermometer stabilises, write down the temperature on the thermometer and remove the electric soldering iron from the thermometer'.There's a labelled diagram at the start of the instructions. Nowhere does it mention a thermometer, let alone an isothermometer. You can't help wondering whether companies put employees on instruction-writing when it would just be too dangerous to let them near the production line.

Great digital control
The digital temperature dial on the side is very useful, it shows you how fast it heats up, and you can dial in a specific temperature too.I like the selection of different sized and shaped tips which are easy to swap over depending on the soldering job .

Great for fine soldering.
This is a great little soldering iron. It heats up rapidly and its temperature range and control is excellent. The ability to use very fine needle pointed soldering tips is great with modern circuit boards as well as other uses in hobby crafts. Have used it regularly for some time now and it shows no sight of wear or potential failure. A recommended buy!

Broken & Unsafe
I purchased this soldering iron in October 2022 for a couple of small jobs on my sons electronic games that had gone faulty. I have recently been using it again on our RC cars, but the black screw down cap that holds the soldering tip and heating core in place just does not do up. It just turns and turns, which therefore means the tip is moving all over the place and not getting to the desired temperature as the heating core is just lose. You can not tighten it up when half way through doing a job as it’s too hot, therefore makes it now useless. When first unboxing it I thought the quality was rather poor but because it did a good job on the first couple of small jobs I kept it. Wish I hadn’t. Spend a bit more and get something that is safe and won’t break. Disappointed there is no support after 30 days especially as it’s clearly a manufacturers issue and I haven’t even had it a year! I very rarely review items I purchase on Amazon and I do order quite a lot, but due to the safety issues involved i thought I’d spend 5 minutes warning others.

Good value
I Bought this item a couple of years ago which just stopped working. Usually I wouldn't buy the same product again that broke so soon but because the item was so good, temperature control size etc I decided to buy the exact item again. The cost is very good value so felt that 2 years use was okay. If this one lasts longer i'll give 5 stars.
