The trick to getting it to zero properly IS...
This is a great product, but it sometimes seems to get a little confused when initially zeroing after turning it on, especially if it's cold. I gave it five stars on everything except ease of use, but still 4 stars there too. I found the easiest way to make it zero properly is to weigh several small items of different weights. For whatever reason, that works well and in less than a minute it's ready to roll, and it's part of my routine every time I turn it on now. The other part is, like all scales, it MUST set on a solid stabile surface like a desk or table, and that MUST set on a solid stabile floor too (if the floor "gives" whenever someone walks by, forget it!). Definitely a great value for the price, works well, very accurate and reliable with consistent results (once I figured out the zeroing trick), and it shows no sign of any problem or wear. Holding up like a champ after two years already. Highly recommended!

Great lab grade scale for a very reasonable price.
This is a great digital scale, which I have been able to easily replicate results with. Very accurate and for the price around $120 this was a great deal compared to other lab grade scales. You must correctly set up the scale and calibrate correctly in order for it to work, but the user manual included is very well set up and provided me all the information I needed. It's also very important that the scale is used at a constant temperature as the sensors inside are temperature sensitive, so when it's first set up it needs to come to the same temperature as the room for accuracy.

Still working
I bought several for my chemistry classroom, and after 3+ years, they are measuring within .037 of a 100g mass. Unfortunately, one of the power cords no longer works. How do I get it replaced?

If you are looking for a reloading scale
This product works GREAT!! It does not weight grains, but you can convert grams to grains and the scale is seriously accurate +/- .01 to .03 compared to my Gemoro 250 Platinum which does measure in grains.

Used and Defective
The scale was already used when shipment was opened. First noticed: parts of the styrofoam molding that hold the central unit were broken off. Yet, the broken pieces of the foam were not in the box. Next: the thick stainless steel weighing plate was gouged in several places and even indented. Obvious proof that some significant, damaging force had been inflicted upon the scale. (Instructions are explicit that even fairly mild forms of exerted force via accident can damage the inner components. Many other instructions indicate the delicate conditions required for achieving consistent and accurate results.)Upon following all instructions and setting up the scale for use, including balancing the feet using a balance window, the first step is to calibrate the scale using an external metal weight that weighs a determined amount. Upon following instructions, the weight would not weigh the determined amount, and upon repetition, would weigh a different amount each time. In addition, the end of the calibrating process should return the reading to 0.000. After many attempts, it did not return to 0.000 a majority of the time. Then, with concern, I began the weighing process using a single item to weigh again and again. Beginning with a reading of 0.000, I would carefully place the item on the weighing plate. Each time it would produce a significantly different weight, rendering the function impossible to remotely trust. Finally, during the multiple repetitions of weighing the same item, when gently removing the item from the plate, the reading would not return to 0.000 a majority of the time. It would indicate remaining weight on the scale of some lesser amount, and that remaining amount indicated would change each time this malfunction occurred. This action proved to me that I could not trust any weighing result from an instrument that assured very precise and consistent performance if all steps and precautions were followed, which I did.I took the package to the UPS store for return to Amazon within the hour. And, unfortunately, I do not know who to trust to find an instrument that truly is new and works since I do not know where the damaged, used item was repackaged and sent to me. In addition, I do not even know if a new instrument would be reliable. This experience has been a great waste of time and thrown off the schedule of what I need to accomplish.

Great lab scale
Very little assembly required and incredibly accurate to the mg level. Very happy with this purchase. I like the option to use AC or DC power and the wind/air shield. We found this to be so sensitive that others can't be moving nearby or putting any pressure on the surface where the scale is. This is a good option for those who require a mg degree of accuracy in their work.

Excess resolution.
Strainguage technology should be 200gX 20mg, not 1mg. I am a retired scale repairman for Mettler- Toledo.

Quality product great price.
This is a quality product. Make sure you order this from u.s. solid. There are other forms of this scale with the same shell but different internal components. You can drop very small amounts on the scale and it will read accurately. The shield cover is packed tightly into the foam packaging. I thought it was missing and contacted the seller before finding it. Seller offered to send me any missing parts no hassle.I have bought several scales for my lab and this will be a repeat purchase for a 200gram scal. The first photo is this item the us solid version. The second is an alternative version bought on amazon cheaper. Same she’ll but cheap inside components. Buy this item. Us solid.
