Best book for electronics introduction

This book is required for my beginners ECE class but I'm glad it is. Even after using it for a few days, its clear that the writer knows what he is talking about and offers several excellent examples for each concept. It will be a valuable tool for mastering harder topics, like LC3, and I will continue to use this book for classes to come. The book itself came in good condition and I don't have any quarrels with the shipping, great product!

Purchased a used one for $19

The media could not be loaded. Ordered on 1/25. ETA said it would be 2/2. Was delivered 1/30. I need it for a computer architecture class. Bought it used from the seller Direct via FBA. Book condition I chose was: used- very good. Upon arrival it looks used- like new. Only minor paper frays and minor dents like on the tip of the book and on the bottom of the cover. No scribbles/highlights inside. Pages inside are crisp and clean. Book spine and lining intact and in immaculate condition. Thank you Direct via FBA!

Well written, not enough LC3 coding

I had to have this book for a computer organization and architecture class. The teacher sucked so this book had to be the main source of my study material. Homework questions are helpful, Would have liked if there was more applications of assembly language.

Fascinating and Clear

This is a great book for anyone who wants to know how computers and electronics really work. We always hear that "Computers are all just 1's and 0's," but rarely more than that. "Introduction" does just what its title says: it starts with bits (those 1's and 0's) and works all the way up to high level programming languages like C, hitting everything from Boolean and transistor logic to processor construction to assembly language in between. The book even comes with simulation software for a "computer" that allows the reader to practice and experience low-level programming and interaction without having to work on their own real computers. Anyone with an interest in how electronics work, from experienced programmers to novices wanting to get into the field will enjoy this book immensely.

Watch Out if Buying Used!

I really like how the material is presented in these books, but I dislike how the homework section and practice questions were full of errors. I had no warning about these errors, and I only found out after other classmates and myself insisted to the professor that the book was wrong. We all found out it was. The homework and practice exercises had extensive, subtle flaws. There was a place online we could look and find the errors, but it took time out of my busy schedule and reduced my ability to learn the material. The authors and publisher should be ashamed of themselves. They should never have sold these books to students. If someone is paying over $100 for your book why would you give them an inconvenience by forcing them to find out by trial and error that YOUR book is wrong, have them go online, edit the question in the book, and re-do the problem? Oh, and because of these mistakes the older prints of this book have no resale value.I heard the newer versions are fixed, but if you are buying a used version watch for the mistakes. They're everywhere.

Spend a few weeks getting to know C before diving into this excellent book

Spend a few weeks getting to know C before diving into this excellent book. May even be worth getting to know a little bit of the C ecosystem so you can do things like look at the assembly language that your C program produces.

Computers: "Behind the Scenes"

Great book. Teaches you EVERYTHING you need to know about what is actually going on in that computer your sitting at right now. Additionally, the book was an easy read and did not require complex computer vocabulary to understand the contents. Would suggest to someone as an introductory computer engineering text or to someone who just wants to understand how modern computers do what they do.
