Q: is there any way to use this at 12v and have the internal light ON when ON?

As long as voltage is 12 VAC it should light up as designed.

Q: How do you wire this switch so that the light will work? Needs a wiring diagram in the description.

I no longer recall how I wired it but I just looked up standard wiring diagrams for industrial SPST illuminated switches online.

Q: I'm assuming these will work fine at 12 volts?

Any switch that works at 110 volts will work in a 12 volt system. The amperage in a 12 volt system may be higher, but my switches were rated for 20 amps, which should be more than enough for most purposes.
