McCormick Vanilla Extract, Pure, Small Batch, Made with Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Beans, 2 fl oz

I am used to the high priced vanilla and decided to buy this instead. Although it smells a bit differently, its taste is just as good as the expensive stuff. I am not a fan of the regular McCormick's vanilla, it seems watered down. It costs a lot less on Amazon than at the grocery store.

I'm sure people wonder what a small batch vanilla is.It's made in smaller batches so it's not mass produced. The vanilla that is used are high quality beans made in smaller batches that give this a very nice vanilla mellow flavor. It's real vanilla so it's good quality with good ingredients. If you're making that special cake or frosting or dessert, I highly recommend this product. The flavor does not disappoint.

It's a better product than the original if you are buying this brand. Not the best vanilla I've ever had. (which was from Mexico) But it is superior in depth of flavor to the original. If you are using it in your coffee, buy a cheaper brand, but if you are making baked goods where the profile of the vanilla flavor is important, then this is a better option than your standard grocery store vanilla.

The small-batch Madagascar bourbon vanilla version of McCormick's vanilla extract is a little better than their standard version. It is most noticeable in the scent of the extract — the aroma is a little sweeter and stronger with less obvious of an alcohol base. Obviously, it still contains alcohol, like all vanilla extracts. The taste is also a little smoother. I use a few drops of this in post-workout protein shakes, plain yogurt, cereal, and steamed milk and have noticed a subtly smoother, punchier flavor than the standard McCormick's vanilla extract. It isn't a big difference, but I found it noticeable. Previous versions of this product's bottle had a nice easy-pour spout, but apparently this was replaced and now it's just a plain cap like the standard vanilla extract bottle has. This is an unfortunate downgrade but not really a big deal.

After trying a few alternatives, I found this vanilla to be a good choice. It may not be the best vanilla out there but, considering the price, it is a very decent product. It has a nice smell. I have not made vanilla pudding with it but I only used it for cakes and cookies and it seems to work.

I was skeptical McCormick’s was just trying to make an “artisan” looking version for hipsters who buy the top shelf extra pricey brands. Well, proof is in the pudding. This stuff has a super-custardy warm creamy vanilla flavor. I had to double check the label to make sure it is just pure vanilla (it is), because it’s almost more vanilla than vanilla.I made some vanilla ice cream with it that is blowing my mind. Better than when I’ve made it with vanilla beans. I’m excited to try this stuff in more recipes, it’s like a little upgrade for everything.Very rich flavor.
