It works!
It works! Two things. It’s a little difficult to get the sleeve at the end to slide over the downspout. Make sure you don’t put a hole in the plastic from the sharp edge of the downspout! Second, the zip tie provided is to flimsy. I bought some more robust zip ties from Amazon And used two instead of one. Otherwise, the product works exactly as advertised!

Does Not Work - Waste of Money!
I purchased this product and was ill so couldn't install until beyond the return date. I followed the directions; and once I got the self-stick tape around the spout, I could not get the product to go over the end of the spout. Very disappointing and waste of money. I wrote to the company on May 28; however, they did not respond. I followed up this past week; and the company will not refund. They will only replace with same item that DID NOT WORK!!

Ok for the way I used it
I used for about 20 months successfully then the side seams failed and the product became useless. I did punch extra holes in the top after the very first rain as the included holes could not handle and water was gushing up the downspout and over the top. I also unrolled some and placed a stick, about 12-14” long (length of tray at bottom of spout) to keep some extension during light rain.I’m reordering and will do the same again. For the price the use was acceptable,

Works well, no more erosion - two minor installation issues
2/27/22 - Update - the product has been working as advertised with one concern. If you have leaves or other debris coming down through your drain pipe it will quickly collect and clog the small drain holes in the body of the sleeve. You can "unroll" the unit and remove the slide on clip at the end to empty the sleeve out. This drain hole is relatively small and doesn't allow for efficient drainage (especially with leaves) so I wound up removing the sleeve and using a hose to wash the sleeve out. This worked fine. Obviously I had to reattach the sleeve with new tie wraps (not an issue) and if I only have to do this a couple of times a year I'll be fine with the product. I will update this review in 6 months.Initial Review - First, the product works as described, i.e., extends to drain the water away and retracts when empty. My issues are 1) my drains are approx. 4" x 3" and I couldn't use the foam adhesive provide for the installation. Not an issue, I just tie wrapped the extender to the drain. 2) the tie wraps they provide are very low quality. You need to provide your own and I'd recommend using two bands of tie wraps to ensure a secure fitting. Otherwise the product works fine. Depending on how much it rains in your area you may want to consider adding a few more holes in the body of the sleeve to help with the draining. In Florida, it can really rain hard at times.

Still good 4 years later
I have a downspout located where the usual elbow-shaped outlet isn't a good fit, it will protrude too close to traffic and was getting knocked out of place at times. I pulled out the wire to prevent it from rolling up, and use this constantly extended in that location. It's effective for draining and the low profile avoids the issues I had with a standard outlet. I applied this 4 years ago and it's still working good as new. I'm very impressed.

Will not stay on the gutter, otherwise great idea.
Product was a great idea. When it rains it pours, literally here, so I assumed this would diffuse the water into the area around, rather than just pushing away the mulch at the end of the gutter.Attached, and it worked well for a few days, but after about a week, it came off the gutter. Foam was still intact, but zip tie had slipped off.Tried another zip tie, about another week later after a good rainfall it was off again. I think the foam gets "mushy" and then the sleeve just slips off the gutter end.Great idea, just a bit flawed, if you can figure out another way to attach better, this may work for you.

Saved Us Lots of Money
We have used this the past couple months and it is still holding up. We were having dreadful flooding in our garage every Midwest summer rain and were thinking about spending some serious $$$ and digging up our yard to install some drainage piping. This was our last option and it has worked great. I have only seen water in our garage once since installing it and it was a small puddle and gone within a day or so, which, compared to a puddle in half the garage all summer and fall, is great! My husband loves it because he doesn't have to remove and then remember to put it back on every time he mows.

Terrible in my opinion.
Had high hopes for this product, but turned out to be terrible. After finally getting it to stay on the downspout with extra zipties (initially just kept slipping off with pressure of rain water), I found out very quickly that the design is poor and it would simply not work as advertised. The tension is so tight in the mechanism that makes it roll up that it would not ever roll out, even in heave rain. The rain water just backs up and spills out over the top, and the rest just sits in the unrolled portion. I even unrolled it manually and put a rock on the end to hold it down. It still tried to roll back up. Also, the holes in the plastic are so small that they seem to mostly be clogged up and most do not let any water out.I also called the # listed on Amazon for problems. They told me they could not help - call Amazon.. Terrible customer service. You have been warned.
