I was blown away by how much bite this file has. I had been using a pretty dull file to sharpen my hatchet but when this one arrived it just devoured metal in a way I didn't know was possible! There is a coarse side and a fine side so you can clean up the gouges and then put a nice edge on it!I highly recommend it!Only downside is that the grip is not super confortable but a little tape or a custom wooden handle would take care of that.

Arrived on time and well packaged. Great axe and machete file. I like the fact that it's coarse on one side for quick removal of nicks and chips, and smooth on the other side to finish the blade edge. Used it this past weekend to put an edge on my splitting axe and my brush axe, works better than a bastard file for leaving a smoother edge. The only reason I gave four stars is because the edges of the unfinished handle cut into my hands as they are extremely sharp. Put a paracord handle on it and all is good now

Nice, functional little tool to have. Have used it to sharpen my hatchet and seems to work quite well. Still need something else to put a final edge on it (though you could get by without that). Pretty light and portable if you want to carry it in the field.
