FANTASTIC - Buy this one!!!
BUY THIS ONE! The Kinden Fireplace Fan arrived really quickly (three days and I live in the boondocks and it usually takes an extra day). The fan works REALLY GREAT! I can hardly hear it. It is within six feet of the TV and it does not disrupt the TV's sound. I also read books about ten feet away and I have to concentrate to hear it. Yes, you cannot feel the air moving past about 12 feet, but it absolutely IS moving the air! How well it works: It's on a cast iron stove that is centered on a 20' wall. The room is 40 foot long in the other direction (20' X 40'). Which make it an 800 sq foot room. Since I had to place the fan at a 45 degree angle on the top of the stove, instead of pointing it directly in to the room, it has a disadvantage (see below about placement). Yet the stove top fan circulates the air in the whole room in a big circle! That's means it is keeping a 800 square foot room warm! Before we got the fan I measured the temperature in different spots in the room and it was 11 degrees warmer near the stove than at the far end of the room. Now, with the fan running it only varies 2-3 degrees from end to end! What a FREE power solution verses the old fan I used to use 24x7 during the winter before. The old fan was noisy, sucked AC power and had to be replaced about every two years. About the placement on the stove: EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS!!! ALL stove top fans work using a thermo-electric device (a diode really). It functions on the difference in temperature between the heat that is coming from the stove up the aluminum foot up to the diode. Then the other side of the diode must be kept as cool as possible to function and produce power, hence the fan and a fancy cooling fins or circle area near the fan. If you turn it the wrong way, you will suck in the hot air near the stove pipe and the fan will: A) not turn very fast and B) die due to over heating! So make sure than fan is sucking in cool air, not the air from around the stove pipe! The ONLY complaint I have is when I pulled the fan out of the box two of the fan blades were slightly bent in toward circular extrusion. It took only light finger pressure to bend them all to an equal distance (~1/4 inch) from the extrusion. Be sure to check that they are all the same. Otherwise the fan will vibrate and hum.PS Note to the stove top fan designers: I am a retired Elictrical and Mechanical Engineer that did some thermo-electric work and designed some extrusions for custom cooling fins for electronics. You and other company's designers have a two minor design flaws that are probably making you lose approximately 10% or more of you fan's efficiency. Contact me for a free consult :) .

Great
Came on time. Had my doubts about it making a difference but it does. You barely feel the air moving with your hand in front of it, but is moving the air. You can hold a tissue in front of it to see that air is moving. Replaced the electric fan in the stove very nicely without all the noise.UPDATE: liked the first one so well bought a second one and now the air is pushed all the way to the four rooms round the living room where the stove is placed. Thinking about buying a third one for our RV's radiant heater to move the heat away from the stove farther.

Excellent little fan
We bought one of these fans for the side of our wood stove - we initially had it propped up on its side on a vertical log (the stove is actually IN the fireplace so there's no room to put it on top). It works great, spins easily once the stove heats up, and distributes the warm air well. Since we liked it so much, we then bought a second unit, and had them suspended on the sides of the stove by linking them with wire across the top. This is a clever, efficient little product that does what it's designed to do very well.

A joke!
This LITTLE fan would have trouble moving ONE hair, leave alone a head-full like the picture wants you to believe! I couldn't feel air moving when my hand was barely 1 foot away from the fan. Sorely disappointed by being duped by false advertising, I will say, the blades do turn when the stove gets warm, and is a conversation piece, but that's NOT what they advertised, nor is it the reason I bought it. Also, I have to "spin" the blades to get it started. I gave it a "1" star rating because I'm apparently not allowed to use negative numbers.

Kinden Fan Per your Request
As requested enclosing pictures of your Kinden Fan. The Red wire attachment is not connected. When you try to connect, it is not secure. Since this is not normal, I am requesting a replacement. Thank you, Chestene

durable and worth the $$
Size is my only critisism, not quite as large as I need. Does a GREAT job moving the air. It was a good addition to my shop!!

Works as advertised
The fan works well. Don't expect it to move the curtains in your house but it does move the air around the room/house. The CFMs are about the same as a non professional hair dryer.

Didn't last long.
Motor burnt out after one winter.
