Update - I reached out to the company and spoke with a customer service representative who asked lots of questions and showed that they care about both the products and their customers. They more than made it right and proved why they are a great Amazon seller. This collar will be a vital part of my Edge Pro sharpening process.Original - This seems like a quality piece. And I so badly want it to work. But it is so stiff that I don't close it all the way. I understand how this is supposed to work and how to adjust it. It is a bad lever or something. I have been trying to open and close it while I watch TV to see if I can get it to loosen. I got it to be a time saver. Just not doing it for me. Will not recommend to sharpeners.

From a young genius on TubeU, a simple yet great idea I've added to the tail end of my EdgePro's stone-arm to limit the 'pull' stroke so the stone doesn't accidentally travel past the edge of the blade. Clamps perfectly secure. Super idea. Building on the genius of a South African TubeU genius, I've added a different stop-collar, the Ruland QCL-5-A Anodized Aluminum Quick Clamping Shaft Collar to my EdgePro's pivot shaft that 200 knives later proves much easier and quicker to operate when re-setting the bevel to retain the same angle when changing over different thickness stones. Also well worth the money. Heck, BOTH ARE ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVES!

This seems to be built well, but it didn’t work for what I needed it fir, as it’s to tight to open and close. If you set it to open close easier, it don’t lock down .

A bit pricey but replaced an old collar on a knife sharpening system with this much easier to use seems more accurate too.

It is expensive but you get what you paid for. It is very well made. Amazon got the best price. I use it for my edge pro sharpener to keep the sharpening angle the same even the stones are of varies thickness. It works great.

This thing is ok. It works but the lever is stiff as hell. Kinda defeats the purpose of a "quick-release" if the thing is a bitch to open and close. Not sure if this is how the product is supposed to be or if I got a dud, but I wouldn't buy this again.
