EKLIND 10509 Hex-L Key allen wrench - 9pc set Metric MM sizes 1.5-10 Short series

Somehow, after years of tinkering, I didn't have a set of metric hex wrenches. I bought these to repair my bike, which is metric.I have a set of Eklind standard hex wrenches that I bought sometime in the 90s, around 1999, I think. They are still in great shape, and, miraculously, I have not lost any of them. When I needed to buy a metric set, I knew I wanted the same brand.I was pleasantly surprised that these are still made in the USA, and I was especially surprised at the reasonable price. I was not surprised at the quality. It is exactly as I expected-- high.The common phrase "Fast, cheap, or good-- pick two" does not apply here. These are cheap and good, and Prime got them to me fast.

I needed some short handled hex wrenches to fit in my saddle bag from time to time (especially the 6mm for thru axles) and tried to get by with some dollar store wrenches that were machined awful and too short to get any torque with. These are much much better—super high quality. Just short enough to stash in a small saddlebag but long enough to give decent torque. These are nice enough that they may end up being my shop set. Although for the bigger ones you’ll need a longer handle for things like crank bolts or pedals. But for bottle cages, stems, seat posts and thru axles, these are great and the machining is very high quality.

It works great for what we need. I’m not sure why we need so many different sizes from inches to metrics~ but it’s good.

Great quality allen keys. Sturdy case. These are the short allen keys -- a little too short for daily use, but still a quality product, especially for the price. I'll throw them in the travel kit and order the longer ones for daily use.Edit: I had to use the 4mm key today on a stuck screw and really had to crank down on the allen key. Hard enough, in fact, that I had to wear a thick leather glove to keep the allen key from digging into the palm of my hand. I was certain the allen key was going to bend and I'd have to throw it away. To my surprise, the screw broke free and the wrench didn't even bend or strip! Very impressed.

Heavy Duty, much bulkier looking on arrival. Much heavier once handled.I got these as an add-on item, much cheaper than the precision set I had planned on ordering. I'm a sucker for what Amazon convinces me is a "deal"!They are better alternatives to the generic keys that come with many devices.I have not run into any problems with these keys being brittle, they are much harder than the metal I am working with so they should stand up to the test of time. Though, they are not as high quality as many precision sets and may be more prone to stripping screws. For my use, I am not worried about destroying a few screws.

Nice to have on hand because now some items especially my bicycle need these tools for adjustments.
