Used one bottle on a Marmot rain jacket and works well…not stiff at all….
I’ve had my favorite orange Marmot rain jacket for many years. Rain was beginning to soak into the fabric, especially on the shoulders. Otherwise the well-loved jacket was in pretty good shape. I washed it in the front loader Maytag washing machine with unscented HE Tide detergent. (I didn’t use the NixWax cleaning product…I did quite a bit of research that indicated unscented plain Tide “Clear” (hypoallergenic”) would work well and it’s our regular detergent. I actually let the jacket dry a few days to make sure the fabric was intact and not de-laminating after the washing but the fabric seemed fine. I wet the jacket down with a spray bottle of plain water and soaked it really well. Laid it on a tarp on the driveway. Sprayed the entire bottle of NixWax Spray on it, sort of sloshed it around in the residual amounts still on the tarp, hung it to dry in the shade for a few days. It’s really like new. The fabric is soft and pliable and feels “new”. I put it in the shower and wet it down to make sure it was water repellant and sure enough the water beads up nicely. I’m really pleased with the product and I think it will give me a couple of more years useful life.

Actually works!
Works great! Easy to use and simple instructions. Actually works well. Spray is easy to use and made my coat and dog poncho water resistance. Needs to use a fair amount for it to work but it is worth it.

It does its job, but only halfway
I would say that this product do its job, but you might need more than 1 and even 2 applies if you want to cover a whole jacket for example.I made sure to follow the instructions but still there are some spots that it did not cover. I made a second apply to those spot missing the product and still not waterproof.Consider getting a couple of spray bottles and apply a few times until every spot is waterproof.

amazing product, horrible smell.
Noticed my snowboard pants were not as water resistant as they used to be so i called Burton to ask what i should do. They suggested this product. I purchased it and watched a few youtube videos of how to apply it. Seems the best way that i found was to first wash your clothing item in a non-liquid natural detergent, pull the item out of the washer still damp and spray this crap all over it. It took almost the entire bottle for one pair of pants to soak it as thoroughly as they suggested. Blotted the excess and let it just air dry. I then put my pants into the dryer at the lowest setting for about 30 minutes the next morning to "activate" the coating...or at least that's what the youtube video said i should do. Hit the slopes the following day and was totally impressed that my pants repelled the water like they were brand new.The bad part: the stench is horrible. I applied it in my bathroom and that chemical smell took almost 2 weeks to clear out. The smell would waft up into my nostrils sitting on the ski lift the first time i went after i had applied it and it was an eye-watering affair. Eventually after about 3 more outings the smell subsided...but sheesh, i thought it would never go away.

Not enough spray and not work as expected
I use it on one jacket and one pant. After I spray the pant, there is not enough left for jacket. And it is not that magic based on my observation, it is not as waterproof as before

Great waterproofer
It restored my Northface jacket, dried quickly without a significant smell.

Good EVEN for non gore-Tex
Made a noticeable difference in my older north face jacket when I took it skiing. It is recommended for gore Tex per the bottle (sadly my jacket isn’t gore Tex) but it seemed to improve water resistance regardless. Does leave a HINT of an egg smell but that faded quickly once I got it out in the elements.
