Simply Awesome

I can’t use my tube amps due to meth addicts loitering in my neighborhood. The MS-2 lets me play discreetly. The basic tone is Marshall all of the way. The clean channel does not have a lot of headroom, but I like it that way. The distort is akin to a JCM2000 on amber channel. It is very responsive to the volume control on the guitar. I will not judge its bass for its 3 inch speaker. It seems to sound best with single coils based on AB testing it on my split coil PRS McCarty. My 62 reissue Strat sounds great too.For what it is, excellent value and great choice for beginners to experienced playersIf you are a beginner, this is much better than what I stared with. Do not expect it to be a 100watt full Marshall stackIt’s awesome though

Amazing little amp

I got this for my husband for Christmas. I ended up having to give it to him early to make sure it worked due to the packaging it was shipped in...which I don't believe is the sellers fault. Definitely recommend this amp not only for the price but also the sound an quality.

Not too bad

I'm not sure if I got a defective unit, but there was an issue right out of the box: the battery compartment is a few millimeters too long to give the included battery a snug fit and allow it to function. This, however, was the only problem, and was an easy fix, thanks to the included, easily-torn-and-folded, multilingual product diagram leaflet. The volume level really impressed me, having about half the headroom of my 5w Maestro kit amp dimed on the main/clean channel, and a little over with a comparable distorted sound. I wouldn't mind seeing a future model with an overdrive level control, but being a pseudo-half-stack weighing in about a pound or so, I understand the need to be a bit Spartan about the control scheme. To give full disclosure, my guitar is a Maestro Single Cut, retrofitted with a Duncan Distortion humbucker at the bridge, so there is no such thing as an amp that will put out a purely clean tone with it when my guitar volume is all the way up. Most amps' clean channels will throw out a sort of surf rock or bluesy sound with it, but the MS2 has an Angus Young vibe at high volumes, very hard rock. The OD switch doesn't change the sound much, just provides a surprisingly hefty volume boost, and the treble presence with or without the OD is very chimy, easily kept in check by adjusting the tone controls of the guitar and amp. It may not be dripping with features, but for what it is, it's a fine amp, with fun little bonuses such as being barely a half-foot tall, including a belt clip, and having a very authentic Marshall aesthetic. In fact, my fiancee ordered this for me and was very surprised to find it was so small, even after looking at the picture. It's actually perfect for my intended use, namely keeping it at my desk at work to riff when things get slow. If you're looking for a good gig bag amp or something to play around on when there's not a power outlet around, especially if you're on a working musician's budget (woefully broke), this is a great buy.

... is not a 5 out of 5 received a bad unit. The only complaint I would have is ...

Anyone who says this amp is not a 5 out of 5 received a bad unit. The only complaint I would have is that you COULD by a 15-20watt lead amp from Pyle or many others that will blow this away for the same price. The difference? They are not portable. They do not clip on your belt. They do not fit in your pocket/gig bag. I got MS2 today and it is everything I was told it would be. Loud enough that people can hear it, yet not loud enough that it can be heard on the other side of the house. The clean channel is clear, the overdrive gives more than enough crunch to rock out. You can not beat this for its size for practice. Probably would make a good lead pre-amp solution as well if you like its as-is sound. This is a dorm room amp. This is what you get when you want to practice without headphones, or jam out with a couple of friends, one playing bongos, the other singing without a mic. Perfect. It is NOT the perfect Marshall stack sound ,but it is close enough. Get real people. It's tiny.

It’s very fragile

Sounded good while it worked, it was perfect as a small practice amp. It fell off the small bench I had it on about 2’ onto a carpeted surface and just stopped working. Tried removing and replacing the battery and nothing. It’s a shame because it was exactly what I was looking for as a practice amp.

Great Gift For A Guitarist

This was purchased as a gift from my guitar playing son. He loves it. He uses it when he travels and still wants to be able to plug in his electric to work on his playing or music he's writing. It is so compact and puts out a surprising clean loud sound for its size. Very easy to carry around and doesn't take hardly any packing space. This is not a full size amp - don't expect full size sound and conveniences. It's useful for practice, when you can't or don't want to make a lot of loud sound. This was probably the best gift dad and I could have given him on the budget we were on. This was a 2017 Christmas gift. He's had no problems with it at all. He highly recommends this.

Not really worth it IMO

This is a pretty cool little Amp, but the sound I get out of mine is choppy, for lack of better term. In clean, it sounds okay; could be better. The OD is what's real choppy. No Metallica or Pantera with this IMO.
