Don't move it around, as this will attract dust/dirt to the underside surface and make it less effective. However, it can be easily cleaned with just water to bring the tackiness back.2. Ensure it lays entirely flat. My wife, bless her, moved it around my desk and left it in a position where a corner was was being folded upwards. This stretched out the under layer and now that corner is raised from the desk. Cosmetic.
