Noisy, Albeit Educational, All-in-One Toy!

I'm not a spokesperson for this product, just a content mom.As I always state in my other reviews, I am a multi-functional loving mom- the less I have in my house and the less there is to clean, I am happy. But, I don't like sacrificing my child's imagination or fun time just because I like it clean. I purchase educational toys that promote open-ended play, and focus on toys that can do more than one thing. To be honest, I don't love that it's plastic because it does make a racket and since we don't live alone at the moment it's not the best toy to bring out after dark. Now, here are the things that I do love about it:- since my toddler was pushing 18 months old, I read that tota this age are interested the idea of object permanence, colors, and the concept of cause and effect. This toy covers it all. There are a few things that are beyond her abilities for now such as opening the doors with the corresponding shaped keys, but she loves to put the simple shapes that she can fit into it, and gets excited over where the shape ended up.- I like that there are two types of doors one that opens from top to bottom and the other from side to side.-I think it was also brilliantly designed that the keys are in order of the shape and color, and the key ring cannot be rearranged for easier organization.Overall, I would gift this to someone and I look forward to my kid growing into the toy which saves me a little bit of money in the long run, for now. :)

Great for toddlers to learn colors and shapes

Love the sturdiness of this shape sorter, littles love to fit the keys in and open the doors, my grandson likes to put other things in the doors i.e. his little people figures, the hand and eye coordination is and excellent learning tool with this toy .

This is a MUST MUST MUST

This toy should be at the top of everyones list to get for toddlers (1.5 years old and up)I have gotten so many compliments on it - people are shocked by the quality and it's actually fun to play with! Every mom/grandma that visits asks where I got it - they want to buy it for their kids. The colors are nice a saturated and it feels pretty sturdy - My 2 year old carries it around and it's held up great. Plus the key turning coordination keeps her busy for over 30 mins!

Great for development!

My two year old child uses this in her occupational therapy sessions, so we bought it for home. Its such a fun design and helps build motor skills so well! I'm sure it would entertain children younger than her and will keep her interested for a few more years at least. Each door has a key you color match and when opened has two shapes inside that then hold can make fit into the door and the roof above the door. Teaches dexterity, patience, shape recognition and colors!

Busy hands Activity

I bought this for work for my kiddos I see did speech. It definitely has made them curious and interested with the bright colors and keys. They appear to have fun and enjoy it. It is quite large so I have to bring my bigger bag on days that I back it. It seems sturdy with thicker plastic. I wish the keys were easier to use when unlocking the doors. Also, I wish there was more familiar shapes used. There are some of the shapes that make me question why they picked that. Overall, it was a good purchase.

Essential for Every SLP: A Must-Have

The Shape Sorting House is a game-changer for Speech-Language Pathologists working with children of all ages. It’s like a mashup of a Critter Clinic and a shape sorter. I use it more than any other toy including the beloved Critter Clinic. With younger children I use it to target colors, shapes, requesting, following directions, expanding utterances, vocabulary, cause and effect, problem-solving skills- the list goes on. By far the most engaging material I have for targeting expressive and receptive language goals. I could target any goal with this locking shape sorter. Sometimes I use the shapes that come with the toy, but I often hide other objects (cars, animals, potato head pieces, anything really). With older kids, I hide artic cards behind the locked doors. The spaces behind the doors are surprisingly spacious and can fit a lot of artic cards of any size (SuperDuper, Bjorem, anything). It’s also portable with a handle so super convenient. And half the price of the Critter Clinic. Highly recommend. Not sponsored, just can’t live without mine! I own two.
