I am Gen Z but I think that this would be relevant to most people who are considering switching from PC to this. I had an Apple iBook G4 back in the early 2000s. It was easy to use, but it was three times the price of a PC with the same specifications. Apple was nice for their hardware but never had leading edge stuff or affordable pricing. Apple laptops back then were over $1000 and PCs were only a few hundred with the same specs or better. It was that that convinced me that besides for the typical windows issues like random updates that it was all worth it in the end and that the window software was not that bad.I was on the fence about retiring my Asus ultrabook and was having trouble finding a replacement to buy for it. Long story short, something has changed in the past few years where Apple now has the absolute best technology at cheaper prices than a PC. A real turn of events. Instead of traditional Intel processors, they use Apple Silicon which uses the same sort of processor that high grade cell phones use, but just a more powerful version. This is how they can achieve way faster speeds with really low power consumption and heat output. I could talk all day about this but there is a revolution and you need one of these M chip apple laptops. If you’re still using a laptop that has traditional Intel or AMD you are missing out. You’re dealing with clunky architecture that inefficiently uses RAM and processing power and generates excessive heat draining your battery, and meanwhile Apple laptops are arguably cheaper per dollar for the performance that you’re getting now. It only took me about two days to get used to the Mac software from someone who stubbornly loved windows before. I’m converted! Not going back. If you’re worried about it, just buy it. You’ll get used to it. You’ll be glad that you switched and glad that you didn’t wait longer.

The MacBook Air I purchased was upgraded to 24 gigs of RAM and a half terabyte storage. The new hardware accelerated video inside the SOC is wonderful. It edits 4K footage no problem and quite quickly. Especially for a computer that does not have a fan. Battery life is best in class. Fit and finish is best in class. The keyboard is best in class. The screen is very good, but could use some improvement. MagSafe or usb c charging is lovely. Fast charging is very quick. If you are in the Apple ecosystem and don’t need a powerhouse laptop, this is definitely the one for you. You can operate your phone directly from the computer. You can use your iPad as a second wireless screen. If you do a lot of intensive work like complicated video editing, the computer will get very warm and eventually use thermal throttling to slow down the processor until it reaches a lower temperature. There are many ways to prolong your heavy work loads before this happens with aftermarket solutions such as thermal pads that can be inserted underneath the case and cooling devices, which can be placed underneath the laptop. This will not be an issue for most users, only the ones using its full processing power which is staggering for its size, battery life and price. The only reason I bought it here was because it was a little cheaper than from Apple directly.

My granddaughter loves it, and as an Apple devotee myself, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Highly recommended!

I upgraded from a 2020 MacBook Air to this one, and I am so happy! I'm glad I went with the 24 memory and 512 storage. My old MacBook had eight GB of memory and 245 GB of storage, and I had to keep freeing up space.It was easy to transfer my data over from my old MacBook. The picture quality is amazing. It fits easily in a backpack and is very lightweight, durable, and functional. It is the fastest laptop I have ever used, and the battery life lasts for days between charges. I'm in nursing school and use this computer for both home and work, so I'm on it multiple times a day and bring it everywhere with me. If you spend much time on the laptop or are in school, I highly suggest going for the 512 GB; it will be worth it in the long run.
