I bought this to replace one I had from like 20 years ago. I don’t generally use curling iron much but I recently changed my hairstyle (have layers now) so thought I’d use it more so decided to invest in a new iron. This curling iron works well and heats up fast. To avoid hair damage, I have only set it to lower settings up to 4 so have not tried higher settings. There are a couple of things that I think would make this product better. One is to have a flip out stand. It has a permanent short stand/piece but I don’t feel like it provides as much stability in that it may make the iron tilt down. Second, a bigger area at the front end of the iron to hold; I like holding the front end for support while curling and one time I accidentally touched the part that was hot. Third. I wish the on/off button placement was a little higher because it’s near where one holds the iron and I accidentally turned the iron off a couple of times while in use. Giving it 5 stars as there’s not 4 1/2 and it works well.

I love this it heats up fast BUT I will say do not use it on high heat my hair doesnt need a lot of heat to curl since I have curly/more wavy hair (2b) I say use 1 or somewhere in the middle it gets super hot just on 1 heat so mess with the heat for your hair if not it’ll definitely burn off your hair on high heat if left for too long. I love the white and gold it’s a color I have around my room. Also be careful with the screws on the sides I’ve accidentally pulled my hair or pulled it off so when unraveling your curls go slowly so you won’t pull any hairs out. The curler does turn off after awhile of use so just check it every now and then especially if your getting ready to go somewhere.

This Conair curling iron creates pretty, soft waves, but the curls don’t hold well—even with hairspray, they fall out within a few hours. The 1.5-inch barrel is also too short for my long hair, making it time-consuming to curl all of it. The ceramic coating does prevent excessive heat damage, and the iron heats up quickly, but the short barrel and lack of staying power make it frustrating for daily use. It might work better for medium-length hair, but for long hair, I’d recommend a longer barrel.

I know we all feel like we need some super expensive, latest and greatest heat styling tools. I have some high end ones. I just wanted a big barrel curling iron to experiment with so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. Gosh - I forgot what great quality these are! Like the plastic handle and buttons feel cheap, but that doesn't make a difference with the functionality at all. The barrel is GREAT quality! My hair glides through it nicely, clamps securely, heats evenly, and had multiple heat settings. If I paid 3 times the price for this, I'd still feel like I got my money's worth! This is just a really great curling iron at an absolute steal of a price!
