This can be used for various reasons. I utilize these to spike my fluid bags with vitamins. I would not use this to inject myself with since the needle is rather large.

The needles are indeed packaged individually and a quick inspection I didn't see any problems with bent needles or obvious burrs. I intend to use these only for draw-up, transfers, and gardening so they seem fine for my needs. It's a pretty large gauge to use for injections so I personally wouldn't recommend for that use. I do wish the boxes were labeled more clearly on what gauge it is, but I just added my own label. They do appear to be clean and sterile but you could always give them a little alcohol dip before use if you need to be very sure it's sterile.
