Looks and works like new
I saved almost 1/2 by buying a customer return and I feel good about it.This Firestick replaced a 4K Firestick from 2018. The old one still worked but it was slow. Reviews said the newest 4k Max was much faster so I decided to try one out by buying a customer return. This was a good decision. This one is very fast. Apps load quickly. I had to manage storage capacity on the old one. The new Firestick has a lot of unused capacity after configuration. There are no problems with the customer return, which is always a concern. It looks and works like new. I factory reset the old one and plan to toss it out. It's too old and slow to think about ever using again.

Powerful and Versatile - Super Fast with 4K Firestick
This Amazon 4K Firestick works perfectly right out of the box! The setup was incredibly quick and the interface is very fast with no lag even when running multiple apps.I've been using it to download IPTV and Cable Apps, and it handles everything flawlessly - perfect for customizing your streaming experience however you prefer. The picture quality is crystal clear, and the voice remote makes navigation a breeze. For the price point, you simply can't beat the performance and versatility. Definitely the best streaming device I've owned!

You can stream reliably on an older tv.
Made my unscarred tv Smart and after cutting my cable streaming nicely on 15 year old flat screen tv. Works as well or better than FIOS box connection in a more economical and wireless setup.

the case could have a better feel
the tech, configurability and capability of this device is insane! it's almost over-the-top. it handles hdr most dolby audio if not all and a host of apps. i'm using it with an older webos2 lg set and it's perfection. we've been using fire for several years now as the sets age and the manufacturer neglects updating their os to handle the latest software. so as much as i hate buying one of these, that hate subsides quickly after it's installed and installation is a breeze. they offer simple and advanced settings that should please most if not all.this refurbed device worked well and looked like it was never used. over time though and after several battery changes the back of the case gets loose and may need to be taped to stay on. we've had several of these and upgrade when there's a sale. they all worked fine.lastly, i thought the features of the "max' would be unnecessary and they are but the additional options and long term use make it worthwhile. it is faster than the previous gen but not enough to justify the hassle. if your network is wifi 6, you'll likely be good till wifi 9+. our older 802.11ax model screams and there's no noticeable difference in the streams especially since the network is only wifi 6 (802.11ax). keep in mind, no matter how fast your network is, the remote server output is key and most of those are throttled. in other words, the speeds offered by this device are more than adequate. so spending more on a gb network generally doesn't reap the expected rewards. 300 - 500mb is usually more than adequate but either way, it won't help your streaming experience.enjoy it. this is where amazon excels.

Ambient Environments are the best!
Have bought 4 of these Max versions for various TVs solely for the Ambient Environment features. Absolutely the best feature of a FireStick in years. Use it every single day

Utterly Unfixed Connectivity Nightmare – A 3-Year+ Joke!
I am beyond furious with the persistent connectivity failures of this Fire TV device. What's truly astounding is that these are the exact same problems I recall from an older Fire TV I owned years ago! It is absolutely baffling and infuriating that Amazon has failed to address such a fundamental flaw in their product line over what must be at least three years, if not more.Living in an area prone to power outages, I am consistently subjected to a ridiculous ritual every single time the power returns. The Fire TV, in its infinite "wisdom," rushes to connect to my Wi-Fi router before the router itself has re-established an internet connection from the modem. The result? A bold "No Internet" message plastered on my screen. And don't think for a second it will intelligently figure this out on its own. Oh no. You could wait for hours, and the Fire TV would stubbornly refuse to acknowledge that internet access has, in fact, been restored. The ONLY way to jolt this brick into recognizing the live internet connection is to manually go into settings, turn off the Wi-Fi, turn it back on, or perform a full device restart. It is absolutely insane that in this day and age, the Fire TV is the only device in my entire household that is incapable of automatically restoring its internet connection after a power outage. My phone, my laptop, my smart home devices – everything else seamlessly reconnects the moment the modem and router are back online. But not the Fire TV. It remains a stubborn island of disconnection, requiring manual intervention every single time. This isn't a new, isolated bug. This is a long-standing, frustrating, and frankly, unacceptable issue that Amazon has clearly neglected for years. Save yourself the headache and the inevitable rage-inducing troubleshooting sessions. This device, and apparently the Fire TV line's handling of network reconnections, is a joke.
