A great security light with fantastic AI detection and functionality without a subscription.
I purchased this security light for my driveway after purchasing and loving the TAPO doorbell. I've had it installed for a few months now and feel that its another great addition to my smart home. It shares all of the great features of the doorbell and captures all the animals that walk past my house. The camera provides nice high definition videos that are easy to access via the application. Audio is crisp and understandable. Night vision is terrific and allows me to clearly see what's happening in the middle of the night. The floodlight is nice and bright and easily adjustable to illuminate exactly where I wanted it to. I appreciate the ability to adjust the floodlight and camera sensitivity separately. The application is excellent and allows me to easily review events, zoom in or slow down videos, and download videos or save pictures to my phone. There is a slew of settings like reducing max brightness of the light or drawing detection zones to redue false positives. Two of the main reasons I purchased the tapo camera are as follows.1. It proides great AI detectopm that allows me to set specific areas for vehicle/movement/pet/person detection and its fairly accurate and quick.2. It offers a lot of functionality without requiring their additional subscription. This was huge for me as other brands severly limit what can be done without having to pay a monthly fee.As a quick note make sure to get a "high endurance" micro SD card for this, or any other camera device, as normal cheap cards can't handle the frequent write cycles for cameras like this.My only minor quibbles with the unit are that the included mount doesn't align a tight seal with a standard round juntion box. While I don't expect this to be an issue since the camera housing is separate from the mounting bracket I was still concerned enough to use an additional small gasket. The only other thing is that night videos always begin with an adible "click" as the floodlight turns on.... Definitely not a big deal but worth mentioning.Overall I'd definitely recommend this camera to a friend and think it offers a ton of value.

Great Synology Surveillance Station Wifi Floodlight Camera
So I have purchased several floodlight cameras. I tried the Amcrest Floodlight camera and it has been nothing but problematic. Flashing, bad wifi, horrible hookup, lights flickering, it stops streaming. I purchased the Reolink Wifi Floodlight cameras which are awesome but they aren't AC powered its DC and I don't have an outlet where I want to place the cameras. These cameras were sort of a last ditch effort to find a good quality camera that is AC powered, and works with a Synology Surveillance Station setup. These have been running for about a month with no disconnects, the software is somewhat easy to use. Even though if you change the camera ip after adding it to the app you have to do it all over again which is a pain in the ass. So set it statically before you add it if you can. The light is super bright and it worked great for my setup. I can't say much about the longevity but I live in the north east with cold winters and hot summers so we will see. So far I am very happy with it.There is no device driver on synology for this yet so you just have to use ONVIF which worked fine for me.

Best smart floodlight I've tried so far
As I've been looking at covering my property with more cameras I've tried multiple well know brands and styles. There has always been something that didn't work right or was so cost prohibited for the hassle they gave. But this tp link smart floodlight was pretty straight forward to setup and it merged in well with the other tplink smart switches and mesh router I have. The features it provides are also great and easy enough to setup. My neighbor who has a large arlo ecosystem was also interested in some of the features it had.Only complaint I have right now with it is that they don't make it easy to view cameras on a computer or smart TV without their cloud subscription even though the cameras have local storage capabilities. If tp link was able to give that functionality with their cameras this would be a home run product.

Excellent design. Hi res, wide angle. Needs a gasket.
There's a lot to like about this floodlight/camera:+ Smart installation. One of the harder things about installing a floodlight up high is connecting the wires one-handed while holding a heavy fixture in the other. Tapo has solved this with a clever solution. You screw in the mounting plate, connect your wires to that plate, then just snap the fixture onto the mounting plate, which has connectors to the fixture. Clever!+ Camera resolution is outstanding.+ Camera angle is also outstanding. Literally sees from one edge of our house to the other.+ Algorithm for recognizing people vs other movement is excellent. Playback footage highlights the person in the video.+ Video can be recorded to a micro SD card (not included, but available on Amazon at very low cost), so I don't have to pay a monthly subscription. That's huge.+ The Tapo app is very good. I use it to control all kinds of Tapo devices. Floodlight, cameras, switches. It's one of the better home automation apps, and it's convenient to be able to control everything from the one app. Tapo also plays well with Alexa. Two downsides (but not enough to take off a star):- The screws that secure your house wires onto the mounting plate are TINY. You'll need a very, very small flat screwdriver. I have a bunch of micro screwdrivers for electronics repairs, but seems to me like Tapo should have included a tiny screwdriver for this task.- The fixture is larger diameter than my junction box, which is standard size at about 4 1/2 ", leaving a gap around the mounting plate where water and bugs could get in. Fortunately I had a neoprene gasket to make things work. But again, this should have been included.Overall, excellent floodlight/camera. A couple of things (small flat blade, gasket) should be included in the box. Pick them up at the hardware store before installing.
