The SnapPower SwitchLight brings the convenience of the SnapPower GuideLight to the standard Light Switch. Remove your old switch covers and snap on the SwitchLight for beautiful lighting in seconds.Because light switches are typically higher on the wall than outlets, the downward shining light will illuminate a larger area and keep the light out of your eyes. This also keeps the night light out of the reach of children and it stays visible above furniture. Typical night lights shine upward and into your eyes.We included an adjustable switch so you can choose between bright, dim and off settings. This allows you to use the light for identifying your light switch or for use as a night light. The SwitchLight is perfect for use in Bathrooms, Kitchens, Entryways, Closets, and Bedrooms. The SwitchLight works when an overhead light is controlled by a single switch. The SwitchLight was not designed for hallways or rooms with a switch at both sides controlling the same light.

Awesome!
Works perfectly! Simple to install. Just know that it won’t work on a dimmer switch because the dimmer fills up the whole box blocking the way for the SnapPower to make electrical contact. (See photo)

Not all rocker switches are the same
I had hope this cover would install easily as reviews stated. I could not get it to work at first. I figured out that the Lutron CA-1PS-WH rocker switch was the problem. The base was too thick. The cover contacts could not touch the screws. I then used a Levitron 5601-2W rocker switch, with a thinner base. The contacts touched and the LED lights came on. I also noticed that if I tighten the cover screws too tight, the light would not come on. I had to back the screw a bit for the light to come on. Make sure the switch is grounded, because wrapping the switch in electrical tape is not possible. When I finally got the cover installed, I was happy with it.

Easy to install, didn’t get electrocuted
The light isn’t super bright but just bright enough so you can see around the bathroom while peeing in a sleepy stupor. The light was easy to install but just make sure you keep the night light in the on position while installing it so to make sure the prongs touch and actually light up the night light. If it is not lighting up then you have to bend the prongs a little and jiggle it while you’re screwing it back on.I didn’t have to turn the power off with the circuit breaker. No instructions were included to tell you to switch off the circuit. Thankfully I didn’t get electrocuted which is one of my worst nightmares. That and getting buried alive.

Works mostly, except not for porch light switches
This is a good idea, and mostly well-executed. You may have to fiddle with the prongs to get it to connect properly, but it’s nothing too tough. I really like the extra light in my dark hallways, and the power efficiency. My one complaint, they don’t tell you up front that it ONLY WORKS WHEN THE SWITCH IS DOWN. This is why it doesn’t work on 3-way switches (can be down-on up-off), but it’s also why it doesn’t work on porch lights. Any time your porch light is on (switch up) this item will not work. So their disclaimer should go farther than it does, clarifying that it won’t work on more than just 3-way switches —porch lights, a switch controlling power outlets or a bathroom light from a hallway, or any other setup where the switch may be left on without turning on the overhead light.

Affordable Safety Feature for Any Home
I love the SnapPower SwitchLight so much, I now have 3 in my home. The soft illumination guides me to the light switch. They are easy to install in minutes. For safety reasons, remember to turn off the power to the light switch before installing. Also, plan where you are placing these. I tried to place it in a hallway where a light is controlled by 2 different light switches (one on either end of the hallway). It didn't work. I didn't quite understand the instructions from SnapPower until this happened. The SwitchLights are now installed going into the kitchen, in the hallway going into the master bedroom, and more importantly, going into the garage. It is a wonderful added safety feature to my home. I recommend everyone buy at least one and try it.

Good quality.
I needed these for a three way switch. They say depending on how the switch is wired these might not work. These were for a staircase with a switch top and bottom so I had to put them there. So I used a tester to find out the two screws that always had power when the light was off. I then modified the back and wired it direct to the two always on when dark terminals and am very happy with the results.I did not need them for a straight switch location which I am sure they would have been plug and play.

Very nice. Two things to remember-
First, if your switch has the wires running along the sides, they may block the contacts, you'll need to make sure the contacts get inside past them. Likewise, if your wiring was done by a good electrician, they often tape wrap over the contacts for extra safety and that has to come off now. Second, there IS a photocell in the front, so these only turn on in dark rooms, you can put a finger over the photocell to test it if the room lights are on.

Awesome- period
I have an older home with the jankyest wiring you ever want to see. I have tried several night light options for my bathroom over the past 6 years and due to the wiring and lack of a good product, I have had to just to keep the lights on in my bathroom all night every night for my kids. All it took was a new replacement switch and this little beauty from SnapPower and I finally have a functional night light and I can sleep in the beautiful darkness that my soul needs for rest. Seriously, food tastes better, I've lost like 20lbs, I find cash on the street, I got a promotion at work, my dog speaks 3 languages, my children do my income taxes for me and landed a book and album deal since installing this little magic machine. This light switch will change your life,
