I work at home and have many zoom meetings. I love having this on my desk where I can fiddle and still be present. Great variety of tools and decorations to set up in many different ways. It’s surprising how soothing this can be.This has really helped keep me focused and relieve some emotions while maintaining a video face.

I first discovered mini Zen gardens while "sidewalk surfing" during grad school, looking for discarded items by the side of the road. My roommate and I came across one of these in a pile, and she decided to rescue it and claim ownership, since I didn't know quite what to do with it at the time. Decades later, though, the memory of it has always lingered in my mind, so I was excited to get a chance to finally cultivate a mini Zen garden of my own.On the whole, this is a delightful little set, and would make an unusual gift for yourself, or for anyone on your list who could use some more mindfulness in their life. The tiny tree, faux moss balls, smooth rocks, and white sand create a miniature naturescape that you could personalize with items of your own as desired. Several sculptural pieces, including a bridge, a sort of labyrinth ball, and a little tower or altar create a distinctively Japanese setting.To maintain your garden and focus your mind, the includes several small wooden rakes and sticks to trace patterns in the sand. This is one of the few weak points of the set, since some of the tools are better made than others. Unfortunately, the tines of the wooden rakes are carelessly glued, leaving them unevenly spaced and pointing in different directions, which detracts from the "Zen" effect.I was happily surprised to find that the set includes a pretty tube of incense sticks to enhance your mindfulness experience, if you wish, and a card that you can personalize if you're gifting the item directly to a friend. A small drawstring canvas bag gives you somewhere to store the tools or accessories when they're not in use. There are no instructions or guidelines for use, which could be confusing to someone unfamiliar with the concept. It would have been nice to at least have a card with a history of Zen gardens so that recipients could understand the purpose and meaning of the various elements.This is a lovely set overall, but the uneven quality makes the price somewhat high for what you get.

I guess I've been living under a rock! I was intrigued and it seemed a fun way to take a few minutes to just relax and recenter yourself during stressful times. It's very calming and the small size allows it to fit perfectly on a desk. The bonus is the included incense. Would, definitely, make a perfect gift for many ages!

Mine arrived with the sand bag broken open & half of it missing. Sand is not expensive so I bought a few different colors to replace it with. All of the tools & accessories were in the kit & the whole house likes to rearrange things on the tray. I'm sure there's some proper zen way to use it but we're just enjoying it without rules.

I was very impressed with the packaging of this item. It comes with a very nice card and would make a great gift. Also came with a little incense stand and incense, several decorations, stones, etc. The tree was broken, sadly, but it was ok because there were still so many other items to use. The sand is very fine and spreads easily so be careful when setting it up. Lots of fun to change and redo, and so many options. My son and I took turns setting it up the way we liked. A great value!

It’s a fun little set. It comes nicely packaged so it is great for giving as a gift. It comes with incense and a holder; the scent is okay. I used my own incense though. It has several items to help decorate the tray and the rakes come with a cloth pouch. The only thing I didn’t like were the colored stones. They are really small and hard to pick out of the sand when you want to change the design. I liked the bigger rocks, I wish more came with the set. They give you the right amount of sand to fill the tray. At first, I didn’t think it would be enough but it filled it up to the lip of the tray. I think it is a good buy.

This is so beautiful and relaxing. It's like a little escape into a tiny relaxing fantasy world. Everything is so wonderful and so calming. Now I am going to want a larger one so I have room for the beautiful accessories and to still be able to play in the sand. There's a lot of incense sticks included and they smell really nice. The set comes in a giftable box.

These sand garden comes with everything you need to help relax and focus. Beside the sand and box, you will have 4 tools to work around the sand, some small rocks, large one / small boulder type, Japanese garden items like a bridge or small house and other elements. the way you mix or set them up is up to you.This will be a gift to my mother-in-law who survived a gruesome 2023. She is now entering in a phase of being at peace and we want to make sure we give her all the tools we can find to help her.
