ASICSWomen's Gel-Kayano 30 Running Shoes

As Expected
Feels like I'm walking on clouds. Got a 1/2 bigger than my normal size to allow for swelling, other than fits true to size. Gives great support for flat feed people. The color is robust. The style and durability is what I expect of the next generation of the Asics Kayano line. No disappointments here.

Great supportive shoes - just what my dr.ordered
These shoes have been great. Podiatrist recommended a stability shoe and this one fit the bill. Great price, too. I did order up a half size as when I tried on in the store they suggested it. Glad I did. Plenty of room in the toe bed and comfortable in heel and sides. Love all the color choices. Would order again.

Timely delivery of a great shoe in immaculate condition
I had to write this review, because I saw some negative reviews where people commented on receiving shoes that appeared to have been worn already. Certainly not the case here!Shoes arrived timely and are in immaculate, brand new condition. The color (I went for that fiery red) is beautiful and powerful. Fun on a nice day and will be cheerful on a grey or foggy day!For those new to the tech specifications of running shoes: this is ASICS’s “state of the art shoe” which has both maximum cushioning and guidance.Maximum cushioning is important for people who are older, heavier (or very tall) or people that have had an injury or are frail. But lots of cushioning is also great for the average person who simply works out a lot on a daily or weekly basis. (Or people that enjoy a more pillowy feeling.) It can also be preventative and protect against injuries or nasty things like plantar fasciitis or help with these issues.Guidance is needed by lots of people who either pronate (your feet tend to lean / roll towards the inside) or supinate (your feet tend to lean / roll towards the outside. The Kayano model has a built in guidance system which is important for mentioned pronators and supinators! But it is not needed by neutral runners (foot hits the road quite straight and steady). And it may irritate some neutral runners as it comes with a slightly more “constricted” feeling. However, if you are an older person, unsteady on your feet (for whatever reason) or just had an injury, that model will also be great for a person who is normally a neutral runner (or walker). While I am normally a neutral runner /walker and am neither old nor heavy weight, I had a bad injury a few months ago where I tore 2 ligaments in one foot. I am still not fully recovered. I still get a swollen foot or pain after longer walks and even short runs, and I still don’t fully trust my ankle/foot to behave and don’t bring me down again. Certainly don’t want to risk another injury triggered by the old one…So both the maximum cushioning and the guidance are welcome.Because I used to work for the marathon association and know a lot about running shoes (different brands and their models) and their tech specifications, I know about and appreciate all the benefits of this model and just ordered it for myself. Look forward to using it a lot 😊If you are new to this brand:The way ASICS shoes are designed/ tailored, they work well for people who are also comfortable wearing the following brands: Saucony, Brooks, Altra, HOKA. They might not work for people who are normally happy with Nike or New Balance. One last thing: please guys, don’t waste your money on cheap no name sports shoes! You can do that with TShirts, without an impact on your health. But when it comes to sports shoes, please consider the higher price as a preventative investment in your body & health. If you are debating whether the ASICS Gel Kayano is worth its price, go ahead and order, it is! 👍👍👍

Comfortable and durable
These have been my to-go running shoes for years. My feet must have grown, as the regular 9.5 felt a little short this time. I ordered a 10 and it was the right size for me! It's my first time ordering my size in wide with these shoes. I love the fit! I am not a runner; I just work out here and there so I don't buy a new pair each year. My Gel-Kayanos usually last me a few years.I removed one star because I am not crazy about the design of the heel. It makes the shoes almost look like a wedge pair of running shoes.Edit: (10/24/2024)So, I took my new shoes to the gym for the first time the other day. I was disappointed to feel like they were crushing my toes a little when I was running/exercising. It felt like the shoes were too small when I was working out. It was not super painful or anything, but uncomfortable enough to be felt. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return the shoes.

Great shoes... great support
Bought my 2nd pair. I tend to pronate and these shoes put my feet in a neutral position. It took care of the low back pain I was experiencing while I worked. Great support and super comfortable. My daughter was having pain in one knee when she was walking and suggested these shoes. After 1 week of wearing them, her knee pain is gone.

Most comfortable shoes ever
I have worn just about every brand of athletic shoes made, my current favorite are Hokas. I have flat feet, all kinds of joint issues, so comfort and support are critical. I don’t run but I walk every day so they get lots of wear and tear.I read an article that said these Ascics were super comfortable and great for flat feet. They were on sale so I took a chance. I am so glad I did. The first time I put them on and stood up, the soft supportive insoles were unbelievable. The fit was perfect, true to size. I have a narrow heel and the shoe was snug enough to keep my foot in the shoe. Lots of toe room. The fabric over my toes is soft and flexible. It breathes so my feet never feel hot.I’ve worn them about a week and can honestly say they are the best fitting and most comfortable athletic shoes I’ve ever worn. They feel so good and I have no foot pain at all. My knees feel the best on walks they’ve felt in a long time. I haven’t worn any other shoes since I got them. That’s how great they are. They are the most expensive athletic shoes I’ve ever had. I would never paid full price for them but I do believe that you get what you pay for. These are well made so I expect them to last a long, long time.I would give these 10 stars if I could. They are fabulous shoes.

New brand for me
I decided to try the ASIS after years of wearing Saucony. I picked this model because it appeared to have good forefoot cushioning. I had surgery two years ago and need some extra padding for pavement walking. The shoes seem a bit big in the toe box for what I am used to,but I am getting used to them. I am not thrilled with them, but they are ok for the price. No real complaints about the shoe, maybe it's just a getting used to them curve.

Wide toe box
EXTRA cushioning makes these feel like pillows. Wide toe box is a good fit for Wide width feet. Runs a little small in length. Lightweight and with a wide flat bottom. Easy for flat road running or treadmill. I wouldn’t recommend using them on rockier surfaces or trails. Not snappy or forward rolling, but offers lots of cushion for running. I alternate these with other running shoes since they are so cushioned.
