The media could not be loaded. This LED light works grrat straight out the box. There was a similar one i saw the only different was the price (14.00) and the color (silver) . This one was more cost efficient and I love the black sleekness of it. It is plastic, but its pretty solid. I honesty dont have concerns regarding that cause it pretty firm. Also onxe you put the crystal on, boy does it really weigh it down and the sleekness of the black makes it looks less plastic. Came with the cord ad well...Yay !! You jusg have to make sure you have a ac usb a adapter or power box to power it up if you do not want to use batteries ! Overrall happy with my choice.

It looks good. It’s easy to turn on and off, etc.…. But batteries don’t last very long. That’s OK with us as we’re using it plugged in.

This light stand works as advertised. My photo happens to be a screen shot taken while it was cycling through the different colors and I hit the buttons while it was blue. The best part is that this light stand was less than half the price that was offered to me by the salesman who made our crystal 3D image of our late dog so to me, it's an excellent deal. It fits perfectly and family members were almost brought to tears seeing the image of Harley lit up.Update: I forgot to turn it off one night and the batteries drained so I bought a longer USB mini cord to plug it in as my outlet was a little further away and now it shines brighter than ever.

The media could not be loaded. I have a growing collection of space related crystal balls the first one was the Galaxy Crystal Ball shown in the video. However I did not like the original base for multiple reasons.I've made sure that all of them now come with this style base. I personally prefer the black over the silver version. To me it just looks really sharp. It doesn't detract from the Ball itself. The base can run on three AAA batteries which are not supplied, or the USB micro cord which is. The only assembly to speak of is placing the batteries in their compartment and closing it again; unless you consider placing the ball on the base assembly.Having had it less than 24 hours, I would expect it to be running well. Its brother is doing just fine after a month.The base is non slip which is good because it won't be easily moved around.The unit is pretty squat so its not going anywhere, it's holding the ball quit securely and sturdily.It doesn't say on the box itself what it weighs, but it can't be more than two maybe three ounces tops...it ain't heavy, it's my base.Bottom line: The base does exactly what the ad copy says it does it has four different modes to choose from, I say four modes, because modes, three, four, five and six, are the same mode just different colors. Mode one is a quite lovely slow fade through what amounts to several different color changes, some quite subtle, and others very intense.Mode two is just like the first Mode only faster, and it lacks any of the most subtle colors. As I said, modes three, four, five, and six are really the same mode just different colors.Three is white, four is red, five is blue, and six is green. Counting those as one mode makes a final touch off being the forth mode.This base could be used to display a variety of different objects. Any thing which would benefit from having a strong light to reflect. Translucent/clear paperweights, translucent/clear anything really. Natural or artificial crystals. Rocks, laser etched Crystal Balls, Old class rings, pastoral, or episcopate consecration rings. Prisms, of all shapes especially round. Crystal or glass skulls for Halloween.The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Excellent choice, does exactly what I wanted. It's the perfect size for a 2x2x4 3d engraved crystal I got. Perfect option for those that want the LED base but don't want to spend $50 to get the one that artpix sells with their product.
