Q: Which side do you put on wall vs item?

I use these dots on my classroom walls. It does not matter which side you use on the wall and the item. Good luck:)

Q: Would this hold a cork board if I stick it agains the wall?

Depends on how heavy the cork board is, but they are pretty strong. Use extra (3 or more per side) if you are concerned it may fall.

Q: How much weight can they hold

It depends on weight and size. I sometimes use two or three loop pieces together on wall and hook pieces together on object being hung. Since some do come loose, I like to add more. Play with it till it suits your needs.
