basic weather station, works good.
This is a basic weather station, bought to observe temps in protected outside garden in Winter. It works fine for that. A couple of gripes: if used in harsh Winter regions, lithium batteries must be used as opposed to alkaline batteries which don't perform well in low temps. Lithiums are way more expensive than alkalines. Also, if using AC adapter, battery compartment cover cannot be put back in place due to right angle plug of adapter which is inserted in same compartment. Sort of an odd design, if you ask me. Pull out stand is cheap and flimsy, doesn't really support display unit that well, making it prone to fall over if nudged slightly. Might be better to hang it on wall or come up with better support of your own. Other than those pet peeves, display is easy to read from a distance, seems to give accurate readings so far, and is easy to set up. We'll see how long it lasts.

Great product with nice layout
I bought this to replace our weather station that finally failed after years of use. I really like all the information this product displays and the vertical layout. It's easy to read, and I like the "picture" of the weather as well. There is an automatic mode based on time where the entire display dims, which is nice late at night.

Pretty nice
I really like how sleek, modern and elegant this product is. It came well calibrated so no adjustments were required. I haven't been able to get it to connect to the WWVB signal for auto calibration of time, daylight savings time, etc... could just be the location where it's placed in my house (as of November 2024, WWVB was down earlier 2024). I do wish the display was brighter and was easier to read at every angle. Also, the product dims randomly at night but seems to wake up with motion. I didn't see anything about this in the user manual or product page so not sure what this is about. The outdoor sensor works great at a distance of probably 75'.

Great looking and easy to read
Acurite vertical weather stationExcellent weather station. Colorful and easy to read. The included outdoor sensor works to over 100' away.Note that it does require AC power. The batteries only keep the settings if AC power is lost.

Would not buy again
Purchased this in December 2024. It worked fine for about three months and then it just didn’t work properly anymore. Changed all the batteries move the sensor’s location did everything we knew how to do and it just wouldn’t work. Will not buy another!

If you're looking for real accuracy, this isn't it.
I live right in the middle of a 3 airport triangle. All roughly 7-8 miles away from my location. I have the avia weather app that reports their current weather readings. All three usually report the exact same, the only thing that changes usually is the temp and humidity might be a couple degrees different and the humidity 3-4% different. Their barometers line up exact to maybe .02 different at any given time. The first time I hooked the weather station up, the temp and humidity (outdoor) was off by about 4 degrees and 5% humidity. Not a big deal really. Close enough. The barometer was way off but I understood there was a learning curve to the unit and it has to process your location for 14/33 days. I did a manual calibration of the barometer just to see how it tracked with the airports. It was dead on. We had a front moving in and the barometric pressure was falling rapidly. The unit was exact to the readings of the airports. Problem being, if you want to use the manual calibration, it has to be left in that mode and yo have a wrench icon sitting there and it won't learn your location, which probably throws everything else off.I purchased a solar shield from acurite for the outdoor sensor. When that arrived, just to start from zero on everything, I let the sensor and main unit sit unplugged, without batteries for 24 hours, then did the hard reset procedure. When I hooked it all back up and hung the sensor in the solar shield, I gave it a day to acclimate. The barometer in learning mode was dead on with the airports and the outdoor readings were really close. 1-2 degrees and about 2% humidity. That lasted for about a day. Now the barometer is again way off (in learning mode) and the temp/humidity are off. Humidity is closest being about 5% different than the airports. As of of this writing, all 3 airports are reporting 46 degrees(F) and 66% humidity and all 3 barometers read 30.03inhg. My unit is reading 54 degrees, 67% humidity and the barometer is reading 30.37. The humidity is the only thing close. Temp is showing 7 degrees higher than real. No sun today, thick clouds, so direct sun isn't it. Barometer is .34 inches higher than actual, that is significant. That could be the difference in an inaccurate forecast.I guess it's okay for what it is. The selling point is the display, not accuracy. I'd gladly give up the color display for a black and white display if it was accurate. My business is mainly outdoors and I'd hoped this would be accurate enough to forecast the weather somewhat. I don't trust it to do that. Nice looking display that tells you, the temperature is in the xx's, the humidity is pretty close to xx% and the barometer is in the wild ballpark of xx.xx inches. If you want real accuracy, probably have to spend more money. I don't need a rain/wind gauge, that the good ones seem to come with, I am looking to replace this novelty item with something that can do what it is advertised to do. Tell me the outdoor temp and have an accurate barometer. Not saying don't buy it. Just be aware, if you are looking for real accuracy, or even close to accurate, be prepared to spend hundreds. This is just a novelty item, a toy.

Works great and is accurate and looks great too.
Very easy to read most of the time. We have it mounted in a room that is well lit by natural light, especially at mid-morning, so at that time of day and depending on your viewing angle it can be a little hard to read, otherwise it's very easy to read. Love the dark background. I initially purchased another model of this weather station that didn't have a dark background and that one was very hard to read, so I exchanged it for our current model. The company did a great job of getting us our current model; we got it the next day. Very accurate temp and humidity readings. Nice barometer too. We rarely look at the moon phases. Love the auto dimmer feature. Very nice wireless sensor too. We have screens on our windows, so I didn't mount it, I just placed it between the screen and the window with it facing the window and this works perfect. For our other weather station (which is from the same company, but is a different model and uses the same sensor) I mounted the sensor outside and it was very easy to mount using only one screw. I prefer placing the sensor between the screen and the window since it seems like the sensor isn't affected by the sunlight in this arrangement, so I'll probably move this sensor to our front window.
