MD POTASSIUM PERMANGANATE & GLYCEROL FIRELIGHTING/SURVIVAL KIT BUSHCRAFT

Arrived in 2 seperate packs. Delivery very swift, nice tins. Have not tried it yet but I expect it will do the job nicely.

Got it just to experiment does the job but so does a much cheaper striker+magnesium flint

A great quick way to light a fire as long as you know how. Pour glycerol on to potassium permanganate and it will oxidise and start to burn. So many people say in truth the temp needs to be over 70 degrees for the reaction to take place. That is a hot day in the UK, what if it is snowing? You are better using Potassium Permanganate along with break fluid or anti-freeze for better results at lower temperatures. Plus there are many uses for the potassium Permanganate on its own. It can be a real life saverThe kit it's self is good quality with individual vials and metal tins.Its is a good kit and nice and tidy but if you are going to be using more but the potassium Permanganate separate and put it in small containers. It is much more cost effective.  250g Potassium permanganate-high grade crystals!!!

Worked like a dream

I was a little disappointed when I opened the packages as the phials are very small.But when you mix one on one the time taken for the chemical reaction is very short less then 3 minutes and a good ignition is plenty for a fire.Then I added the Magnesium powder to the mix on the second attempt and WOW this is truly a life saver if you are stuck out in the middle of nowhere and need a flare. THE LIGHT WAS BLINDING a great addition to any survival kit .
