When you really need some sleep... this is your answer
I travel a lot and I have chronic insomnia. You'd be surprised what a difference it makes when you make a room dark an hour or two before you need to sleep. Enter this thing. It is so easy to cut and install and makes such a difference, that if you only use it once it's worth it. I hope to re-use it. Would even buy additional sticky rounds to use over and over.Even when you're not traveling it's useful in your own home. Black-out drapes are ugly, but this you can put up when you need it and take down in the morning.

As dark as a cave!
These curtains are perfect to black out a room and then easily remove them. We have a murphy bed in our guest room, so we only need the curtains for when we have guests or if one of us is sick and needs to sleep separately. Our guest room's window faces out onto our condo shared space with a light and an exit sign. The room stays lit if you just shut the blinds. However, when you put up this black out shade (we used the velcro), it's like a cave in the room! They were very easy to cut to size and the velcro is high quality and sticks to the frame (you never notice it when the shade is off). It's very durable, after multiple times being applied and removed. Highly recommend.

Functional and cost effective for windows where appearance doesn't matter
Works well at a reasonable price, with a few reservations. As the instructions say, the product has an "odor" when you first open it. It's made of polyester, but it stinks like a new vinyl roller blind. Eventually it outgasses.Unlike a roller blind, the fabric has creases that probably don't go away. You could probably flatten them with a steam iron on low heat with a layer of cloth between the iron and the curtain, but the instructions don't recommend it.More important, one side is silver to reflect sun. That's OK for back windows and side windows toward the back, especially above air conditioners. My long thermal curtains don't cover the window space above the ACs; the room darkening roller blinds don't block heat; the unlined café curtains above the AC are too short to cover the top window fully and neither reflect sun nor block heat. If you never need to open the curtains to windows with ACs, this product is perfect for those spaces. But in windows facing the street, this curtain is truly ugly. One option is to install it white side out. That would reduce but not eliminate its effectiveness. After all, it's the same material as the liner side of thermal curtains. The creases seem more visible than those in thermal curtains, but maybe I notice them more because they're new. They aren't visible at a distance through a screen, but picture windows with no screen definitely need a different treatment. The thickness doesn't matter. To be functional, the curtain needs an outer layer to reflect sun, inner layers to resist heat and block UV, and a nonreflective inner layer for appearances if you ever draw the curtains back. It only needs enough polyester fabric for an effective blackout. Adding extra plastic just to make it feel sturdier would be wasteful and increase the price. Unless you plan to install it outdoors or pelt it with beanbags, it's durable enough. The round adhesive tabs and Velcro tabs both seem to work well. How long they remain sticky depends on how hot it gets for how long and the material your window frame is made of.I recommend this product for windows that don't face the street and have additional curtains that rarely need to be opened to admit light. For windows that face the street or need to admit light part of the day, they could be cut to fit the roller of a worn-out vinyl roller shade, with white side out, as a cheaper substitute for a proper insulated rolldown blackout shade.

Easy blackout
These are amazing. We have window treatments on all of our windows, but they let light in around the sides of the windows. I put these on under the treatments on the two windows in our bedroom, and the two in the room at the front of the house that get the most sun. The bedroom is so much darker. Not sure about keeping some of the heat out of the front, but the darkness should help keep it cooler. I was able to use one panel for 2 windows with excess and it was really easy to install. Would definitely recommend!

Works well!
I needed a solution to darken our apartment bedroom without putting up curtains. We already have roll down shades but they didn’t block enough light. I used this and held it up with magnets instead of the included velcro and so far it’s been amazing and definitely does the job. Looks good when hidden behind the roll down shades. Has a plastic smell when initially opened but got rid of it by letting it air out on the balcony for a few hours.

to truly block light!!! ADDED: when room is dark dozens and dozens of pin holes in fabric
My bedroom is pitch black now just as I wanted. I also used some double sticky Velcro for GOOD coverage. I bought the white cover it looks great on wall like drapes. Really blocks the sun.........& light. I have amount to do another window in guest room. When I checked the shade when room was pitch black I show where the fabric has dozen of small pin holes all over but I have already cut & sized the fabric so I doubt if I can return it .Would like to know what caused this?
