Learn to Crochet

I learned 1 stitch from my grandma 50 years ago, but never did more and haven't touched yarn in all these years. I have 3 or 4 "how to crochet" books. This is the clearest of them all. It's wonderful! And they hold the yarn the way my grandma taught me all those years ago, unlike the others.

It's an okay book. I feel it could have a few more instructions for an introduction to crochet. But, it has helped me in my learning process.

This book is full of great information and images. I found it useful and was able to crochet by the end of it.

Fun patterns, I was a novice, now I can make some cool wash cloths and stuff. I have not yet graduated to the more intricate scarves, gloves and such but I am excited to learn and the book gives great pictures.

I don't find this book simple to follow. Each page has instructions for both left and tight handed people and I find it confusing.

Quite basic, but not sure how easy it would be for someone with no previous experience of crochet at all. Also, all the terminology is US - there is a table explaining the difference between this and UK terms but not till page 31 i. e. towards the end, and there's no index. The instructions are reasonably clear but only for a few basic stitches, and none at all for standard "in the round" crochet which I had to find online. It's a cheap book but there are better things available.

I purchased this for my daughter who had forgotten about crocheting. I also sent her some of my wool. She found it most helpful and hasn’t stopped crocheting since she got it. She is delighted with it.

Bought this as a Christmas present for a 10 year old but liked it so much I kept it and ordered her another one! Great for learning to crochet.

I chose this book as I'm a lefty and it really is easy to follow. I have adhd, so struggle following instructions usually. But I was crocheting in no time

Bit disappointed with this to be honest as it doesn’t really help you progress from the initial chain stitch. I was looking for something to give me ideas to make “things” but maybe l just chose the wrong book ?
