I love this paper towel holder. We had another one that was big and clunky and took up so much room. I went to a kitchen store to look at them and almost bought a similar one but the line was super long so I decided to look on Amazon. I ended up liking this one better and it was less money than the one in the store.The weight of this is great. It's heavy enough that when you go to rip off a sheet it will not knock it over. It has a little rubbery thing on the base that gives the roll some grip so when you go to tear a sheet, the roll does not unroll at all. It still works ok to unroll some, but it will not accidentally unroll the whole roll when you go to get a sheet.The other nice thing is that the base has a bit of a lip so if the end of your roll is wanting to fan out, you can sort of tuck it inside and that lip will contain it.Besides how nice it looks on my counter, you can just slide a roll of paper towels on without unscrewing anything, and also it will accept a smaller roll or even a big mega roll. I put a regular sized roll on, and there was plenty of room for the biggest roll you could find.For less than $15 this is a great value, very well made as well as functional.Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks

We held off buying a paper towel holder for our newly renovated kitchen for over a year because we were not happy with either how they look or function - so we sorta got used to the roll sitting on the counter by itself. After trying and returning 2 holders from the well known brands, we decided to try this particular model from Polder. It is simple, with no appendages other than the center column and a rubber ring at the bottom that's not visible when the roll is full to maybe 15% remaining. First, it is the perfect fit for where we need to place it and it matches our satin nickel finishes. Then it can take a jumbo roll. Finally, it is easy to tear off the half sheets with one hand and not worry that you'll get 10 sheets pulled out - the little rubber grip at the bottom really works! The only thing to be aware of is this - because the rubber ring not only comes into contact with the cardboard tube inside the roll, it also touches the last 15% or so of paper towels remaining on the roll, so it pulls mini pieces of fibers off those paper towels. Those little fibers (look like dust) land on the heavy base and they're visible - so if that bothers you, just wipe them up occasionally. Otherwise, the Polder paper towel holder is an excellent value, great quality, looks good if it matches your kitchen scheme and does what it is supposed to do.

That was until I used the Polder Single Tear Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel with Black flex rubber rings.I am embarrassed that I tolerated that wooden doweled 8th grade woodshop paper towel holder project for as many years as I did. Had I know that this new technology existed I would have upgraded sooner, not waiting for the previous holder to break (one time too many after multiple home fixes).First - it looks good. The stainless is not "IN YOUR FACE" like many of the modern, big, stainless appliances dotting suburbia's landscape. It is subtle, and blends well with a traditional kitchen.Second - weight, it is hefty. No too heavy that my wife is unable to move it if needed, but stout enough to resist movement from a "bad pull" at the paper towel. With previous holders, a bad pull would send the roll and holder flying across the kitchen. URGH. Not here, no way. This thing is staying put.Third and most importantly - one handed tearing of single, double or triple sheets is easy peasy lemon squeezie! I never, ever, ever was able to pull off the one handed single sheet tear off with my previous bastardization of a towel holder. The Polder Single Tear Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel with Black flex rubber rings makes it so. I LOVE IT!!!I was considering some of the other models listed here in Amazon (simplehuman Quick Load Paper Towel Holder and V Polder KTH-6066-87 Single Tear Paper Towel Holder) but became worried of the "fuzz" factor that many were complaining about as well as the "...it doesn't work past half roll" issue. Yes, really! I let "paper towel fuzz" guide my buying decision. And boy, was I glad I did. This holder here leaves absolutely no fuzz behind and works one handed down to the last few sheets.I have recommended and chastised quite a few products here on Amazon. Good or bad, I like to tell the truth and let people know why. You cannot go wrong with the Polder Single Tear Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel with Black flex rubber rings. It works each and every time, it is stout, and beautiful enough for any style of kitchen. It is absolutely the last word in hands free paper towel dispensing.

Cheap, beautiful and very solid piece. I was tired of having my 2$ paper towel hanger so I decided to buy this. I'm very happy with it. You can use it with one hand. You pull slowly so get the number of half-sheets you need and then you pull fast and it will cut where you want. The base is somewhat bigger than I thought but it give a better look than I thought with big rolls of paper towel.I was looking at another one for 25$, but I think you can save the 10$ and buy this one. I'm not sure how can a paper towel holder can have another 10$ better quality.The only downside is that like everything that is brushed stainless, if you drip water on it, you will see it and will need to clean it. But you know, the paper towel are not that far hehehe.

I use paper towels every day. Rather than an $8 roll holder that requires two hands to use, this thing stays put. It's super heavy, and you really can pull off sheets with a single hand. It'll last forever, and is well worth the investment.
