This continues to be an adorable design and I love that it gives the little birds a chance to eat without the doves kicking them out of my larger feeders. HOWEVER, this item rusts heavily and quickly, all 3 of mine did based on humidity alone, not rain. The feeding cone at the bottom has a small hole for drainage, but it does not drain at all and it's a mess to clean. Since these feeders are still quite sturdy, I've been covering the bottom cone where the food goes with aluminum foil. It doesn't bother the birds one bit (they don't eat the foil either) and it makes cleaning a breeze Still, for $40, I'm not sure I'd recommend it given the rust issue, unless you use some kind of RustOleum spray paint or seal on it first. I may still try that and will update this review again if it works well.=======================ORIGINAL REVIEW: 4 Stars -- June 23, 2021The product itself gets 4 stars. It's beautiful, well made, and perfect for me. It is on the smaller side but I prefer that in order to keep food fresh. I have a few others that are much larger and, with the rain and sun and wind, I end up throwing away more food than the birds eat. So the product is great.HOWEVER, I deducted one star because the product DOES need a nut to attach the hanging stem to the umbrella on the inside, and it DOES NOT come with the package. It took 2 MONTHS for me to receive the first of 3 that I have ordered and, after such a ridiculously long wait (I could have kicked it all the way here from China), now I have to wait further til I can make a trip to Home Depot to get a stupid nut. What the heck?If I were rating the seller, it would be a big, fat ZERO. That said, I love this feeder and hope the other two arrive before I retire in 10 years.

Have had this bird feeder for almost two years now. No problem assembling so not sure why others have an issue with it - took my husband about five minutes to put together. I have to tighten things up every so often but that's about it. Small birds LOVE this platform feeder - don't have a pic readily available but there's sometimes 2-3 small birds feeding at once. Great for suet (I break soft suet into small pieces and spread into this feeder along with nuts). I do bring all feeders and water bowls every evening in to wash with hot soapy water & dry thoroughly = keeps bacteria at bay. Why feed birds if you're not going to ensure feeding habits keep them safe?

I have had this feeder for over 3 months now and it has withstood torrential rain and snow with 65 + mile an hour winds. Very sturdy and top protects well from the elements. Does not keep out the blue jays. They are not deterred by the size.

This is a really good bird feeder/ garden ornament.Does the trick. Simple, elegant, effective. And yes birds do eat from it.

We have a lot of small birds that come to the fountain on our deck to drink. They are very cute so I decided to get a hanging bird feeder and see if I could attract more. I chose this model because it is smaller and discreet as well as seemed to be more suited to little guys (rather than big aggressive birds or marauding squirrels). Unlike some of the other reviewers commented, mine seems quite sturdy and doesn’t require nuts for the bolts if you assemble it exactly as pictured on Amazon (or, maybe I got lucky with a good one...). I put bird feed in it and waited a couple days before the birds finally found it. Now they visit all the time and Seem to be bringing friends. Despite being a little messy, the birdies are very entertaining to watch enjoy themselves, especially as I drink my morning coffee. Give the feeder a couple seasons and it will probably age and patina nicely. Good product!

Oh my goodness, We love this bird feeder... better yet so do the birds. I must admit I had to have my husband help me put it together as I had the screws in the wrong way so it didn't hold... it looked like it was missing the nuts but it wasn't.. I was just putting it together wrong. Once my husband put it together correctly was fine. I also had emailed the company, they emailed me right back with photo instructions. Don't hesitate for a minute buying this beautiful peace of art. I posted this photo on my Birding Facebook page, everyone wanted to know where I got the beautiful bird feeder.... I told them so I hope you are stocked up. This would be a awesome Christmas gift for bird lovin folk. Thank you kindly for this lovely feeder.

It turns out, in spite of all their claims to the contrary, that you DO need nuts for the screws that hold the top to the bottom! No matter how much you tighten them, you can then pull it right apart with no resistance. Strange that they put so much effort into reassuring you that they aren't necessary, when they definitely are... There's even a big sticker on the package itself! It's unfortunate, because it would otherwise be a 5 star item - looks great, perfect size for the wee, small birds that would get bullied away from bigger feeders. I would've even given 4 stars if it was merely the inconvenience of having to go out and find the proper hardware, but you lose another for the false claims! I'm sure it cost at least as much to print the disclaimer stickers as it would've to include the proper hardware.

Nice size bird feeder. Took a minute for the small birds to show up and figure out how to use it. The blue jays still managed to get in to it as mine is next to a tall Camilla bush. Nice shape and design.

以前は樹脂製のバードフィダーを使っていました。２年間使ってみた感想です。・金属製ですので経年変化が少ないのでずっと使えます。以前使っていた樹脂製は透明アクリル部が黄色くなってきたり経年変化があり割れました。・引っ掛けフック部は強風時の脱落防止に結束バンドを使うと便利です。・大雨が降ってもすり鉢状の底の穴から排水されるのでエサがカビたりしにくいです。・金属製ですので夏場は熱くなりますがエサが豊富な夏場はエサやりしないのがマナーですから問題ありません。新品は金属の光沢感が強くガーデンアイテムとしては美しいのですが鳥が反射に警戒するので屋根に植物を巻き付けたりカモフラージュしてみてください。ちゃんと鳥は来てくれますよ☆設置場所は開けたエリアがベストです。来ないなあと思っている方、気長に待ってみてください。急に繁盛しだします☆

親子と思われる5羽のスズメが毎日エサを食べに来ていて、窓からそれを見て癒されています。とても良い買い物が出来だと思います。

It looks great and I didn't find it too difficult to put together. Unlike other purchasers, I didn't find any problem with not having a nut to connect the top.I bought two very close together - and I keep them very close together. One of them now has really bad signs of rusting, the other is fine. I don't think the situation makes a difference - but maybe it does.I like it and the birds like it - it's fine for suet pellets, mealworms and sunflower seeds (but wouldn't work for small seeds).Cleaning is a bit of a nightmare, but it can be done. I'm not sure that I'd take it apart.That said, I like it - I just wish it had better electroplating.
