Kubey makes a great knife. It has the look and tactile elements of the next class up. I would not hesitate to buy Kubey again. I would say it’s every bit the equal of some of my entry level Benchmades. The Hyde, in particular, sticks above it’s weight!

Overall I am pleased with my first Kubey knife. The front flipper takes a little practice, but I love that I can deploy via my thumb from the front as well as my index finger from the top. The thumb slit works well too with a little practice and can also be slow rolled. While not the most ergonomic knife by far, I do find it comfortable. The liner does not seem to create a hot spot. I do wish the pocket clip had less of a “ski ramp” on the end. I have not used the knife a lot since I just got it, but so far I do like the steel choice.I gave the knife 5 stars because it is well built, centered, with an acceptable fit and finish at this price point. The lock-up is slightly early, but completely in the safe zone with no blade play. I will say that while the knife is by no means heavy, it does lean in that direction weighing in more than one ounce per blade inch. But I do like a knife that feels sturdy in the hand and I have plenty of lighter weight options In my collection if I choose to carry lighter. As far as value goes this is a competitive price point. I feel the knife may be $5-$10 higher than it probably should, but I have no regrets on my purchase.

Nice EDC blade shape and size. Good blade steel that holds an edge and resharpens easy to a scary sharp edge with minimal effort. Smooth action out of the box with early lockup on liner lock. Gets even smoother after a little break in. Multiple deployment methods makes it fun and versatile. Good access to disengage lock bar. G10 handles have good traction and the neutral handle shape lets you comfortably use multiple grips with out hands being “forced” into one position. Deep carry clip works good without being a hot spot in your palm when doing hard cuts. Overall great knife for Every day carry. Definitely recommended.
