Wonderful second chance
I liked the characters and the plots and subplots intertwining within the book. However the ending seemed to sneak up on me. I wasn't expecting it yet.

Not her best, but still a very good story.
It was good, but left me a bit frustrated. Not her best book, but still a very good read. I guess I just wanted more.WARNING.....MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW!!!Jake and Bree literally spent most of the book in just one fight after another. And then just when you finally think that Jake and Bree would quit fighting and start actually loving one another, they would have another fight and would not talk to each other for days. They even fought less than two minutes after having sex. Unbelievable!!! And then just when things were finally getter a bit better, the book ends. No epilogue, no letting the readers know if they ever actually got married.....NOTHING!!! He proposes, and then it ends. Sure, I guess if you want to get tecnical, there was a HEA of sorts, just not my idea of a good HEA. The ending just felt way too rushed. The story went back and forth between the broken relatioship between Bree & Jake, and her divorced parents, MIck & Megan trying to fix their troubled past---- which was okay----but I wanted more of Jack & Bree's story. I wondered why the author would bring Kevin back from over seas with a new wife in hand one minute, and then completely ignored the whole situation the next.I did however like the closeness and dynamic's of the O'Brien family. I absolutely loved Abby's twins. I also thought that about Jack, his sister,Caroline... and his neice,Jenny too. I have three daughters of my own---completely grown with their own teenage horrors of their own---so I could completely relate to Caroline's situation. Boys are easy, but girls???? you're lucky if you survive those teenage years unscathed. And I loved how Jack, Will, and Mack always had each other to lean on in both the good times, and the bad.I have read so many of Sherryl Woods books in the past, and this is the first time she's left me frustrated like this. But the fact that she can actually make me feel so strongly tells me she's the great author I've admired for years, otherwise I wouldn't have cared about any of these characters at all, right?

Solid story from Woods
Flowers on Main is Book two in the Chesapeake Shores series and is the story of Bree O'Brien and Jake Collins.Bree O'Brien and Jake Collins were once an item six years earlier, Bree became pregnant, then had a miscarriage. Because she wasn't ready to begin a family and was set on becoming a playwright, she left Chesapeake Shores for Chicago to pursue her dream. Jake was devastated at the loss of the baby and his loss of Bree, and for six years he's been unable to get past his anger. So when Bree returns to her home after her third play flops, she is determined to do something else with her life. She's inherited a talent for flower arranging from her grandmother and decides to open a flower shop in town. The one stickler is that her only supplier is flower grower and landscaper Jake Collins.Their first encounters are sticky, to say the least, but Jake is persuaded by his sister Connie to sell to Bree, and Bree tries to be friends with her old flame, but he isn't having any of it.Author Woods' story revolves around the rowdy, fun-loving and meddlesome O'Brien clan-grandmother Nell, Mick and his ex-wife Megan who he is trying to woo back, their five children and Mick's two brothers. I enjoyed the camaraderie of the O'Briens, even enjoyed Jake's male bonding with buddies Mack and Will. Bree came across as realistic and likable, but Jake's anger at Bree seemed excessive and tiresome. I wanted to like him more than I did. Still, it's another part of the O'Brien family chronicles, and it's delightful to see what happens to characters one has come to know from the previous story. Definitely a book to get in this series.Ms. Woods has a lovely way with the family interaction that will keep you turning pages.

Flowers On Main by Sherryl Woods
Have ordered quite a few books from you before and have been happy with them. This was no exception to that. Book was in good conditon and arrived in a timely manner and before time given to arrive. You make it easy to find the books I am looking for and I usually order the used but in good condition and have never had a reason to complain about the books I have received. Please keep up the good work and I will continue to buy online from you and let everyone know what a good deal it is and that they are generally always in the condition that you have quoted them to be in and always arrive quickly and ahead of time. I receive an email telling me when they are shipping and when I shall received them and you have always lived up to the expectations and made it simpilar to order online from you. You usually make it easy for me to find more books by the authors I like to read and with a full time job and taking care of my elderly mother it's easier to order on line as I don't have a lot of time to spare so this allows me to find what I want and not have to go to alot of stores looking for books. I don't have the time to go to the library alot so I appreciate how easy it is to find and get what I want. Thanks.

Save your time.
I read this after watching the series on Netflix. Unfortunately this is a stupid book.Nothing happens, the characters take too long to get over their emotional hang ups and sort things out followed by a predictable and unsatisfying ending.Plus it basically has the same plot as the first book: girl leaves high school relationship to find herself and follow her dreams. Girl returns to high school relationship and decides that's all she really wants.Totally put me off reading any more in the series.

Light and enjoyable
This is a light romance novel and one of a series set around the same family in a small American town. It is not at all original - Bree and Jake have fallen out in the past because of a misunderstanding, they have been apart for many years but still have strong feelings for each other which they deny at first, each of them has issues which need to be resolved if they are to come together and they are part of larger families which supply lots of sub-plots.Mildly amusing and not very challenging to read this is, however, a good novel of its type. You will enjoy it if you are a fan of Nora Roberts or Debbie Macomber.

It is good to find a new author who writes this type ...
This is the second title in the Chesapeake bay series, the first is the Inn INN AT EAGLE POINT..It is a little predictable, but very enjoyable nevertheless, I am a Nora Roberts fan, and this series reminds me a lot of some of her books. It is good to find a new author who writes this type of story, and there are plenty more of hers to read too.. Best to start with the first one in the series, as you get to know the characters bettter

Feel good novels
I love these books, absolutely love them. I have to admit to it being the TV series that pointed me in the direction of these books. But that doesn't change my 5* review. I love the character dynamic and I find myself holding my breath waiting to see what will become of Mick and Megan's relationship. Onto the next. Thank you Sherryl Woods.

I like these books about the O'Brien Family.
Another member of this delightful family to meet. Bree returns home after her play got bad reviews and finds a new life at home. She decides to open a flower shop in town but things are difficult especially as her main supplier is her ex boy-friend. Lots of interference from her family but it all works out in the end.Her grandma is a real character. Can't wait to read the next book.Monica C
