Well, here we go :)I bought this eSATA to USB-C Adapter for I imagine the reason MOST of you bought it for, to connect an external USB HDD to your Mac (or some other machine) via USB-C because you assume that it would be faster than using a pass-through device/adapter to convert USB-A to USB-C. Go ahead and hit that 'This helped me' thumbs up if that's your situation because it probably is.So does this work? Absolutely! I said that in the headline! But the reality is... at least in my testing (direct testing of running Black Magic speed tests BEFORE using the cable, and AFTER using the cable) and frankly the speed when connected with this USB-C / eSATA direct cable were about 5% slower. Sure that's not much, but that is... 5% slower when I'm doing mass data transfers.Now you might be saying 'what if I let it cache the data and then do the testing' yea, that will be faster... but that's because we're caching a cache at that point :) Regardless, it DOES work and it works quite well, it's definitely going to replace one of my cables purely for convenience.
