6 year old gives it 5 stars
I'll start by saying I'd probably give this game 4 stars but, I asked my nephew and he gives it 5 stars. We played with 3 players and we played 4 rounds in one sitting. He probably could have played for longer. He loves all things sensory, so he was immediately drawn to a game that includes kinetic sand. It's a cute game- asethetically pleasing. It gives KerPlunk vibes but is more adventurous, which was another draw that really kept all of our interests (adults as well). The rules are simple and easy to understand. My only complaints are small ones: all but one of the figures/characters are top heavy and, as a result, they don't stand upright. That same figure is almost impossible to hang the monkey on. There's just no place on him to hang it from. These two issues, while small and knit-picky, do make things feel a little unfair. That said, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all and unique to all the other board games we have. We will play it again for sure. And we highly recommend.

This game is like "Don't Break the Ice" with a few twists!
My 3yr old and her father and I all LOVE this game! The sand is kinetic sand but seems to have just a little bit more of a stronger hold so the sand doesn't start falling too quickly. I really recommend this game. Its really alot of fun. My daughter got about 10 games for christmas (yeah, I know) and this has been the favorite for all of us.Ok so, you start by putting the different colored sticks in randomly.- Take the small ruby and push it into the sand and knead/mix the sand so you don't know where the ruby is.- Next put the sand on top of the sticks and spread it around evenly and try not to expose the ruby.- Take the grid design and place it on the sand and press firmly so that it transfers the pattern to the sand.- Each player selects the colored person they want and you roll the die to see what symbol you get and can choose whichever spot with that symbol is available and place your person into the sand enough so that it stands.- After everyone has their spots its time to play. Now the symbols don't matter just the color that it is you rolled, and whatever color it is you pull any stick of that color out.-Now there is a monkey symbol you can roll and when you do you take the "meddling monkey" piece and you place it on the back of another players person of your choice. Each time someone rolls the monkey they can choose to move it to another player or leave it on the same person. (HINT: you don't want the monkey....it makes you sink faster.*-* DONT FORGET to pay attention and watch for that ruby to drop and when it does whoever who sees it and grabs it first gets a redemption or 2nd life. So if and when they fall they can place their person back on top 1 time.*Last one standing is the winner!

Rules not clear
I can’t find an answer on a few rules that were immediately in question. It would be nice to know if 1) a player that was already eliminated can still grab the ruby if it falls through several turns after their elimination. 2) we played twice and both times one of the characters fell off the board. The rules are clear that the characters don’t need to remain standing, but don’t address the issue of them falling off an edge (not through the sand).Great game for young kids but my boys were fighting pretty quick about grabbing the ruby. My one boy was already eliminated and waiting and watching and we weren’t sure if he was even eligible to grab it to get back in. When the ruby fell he went for it and it resulted in one squeezing the others hand to get back in and the other in tears. Normal Brother stuff in many ways, but I didn’t love them having to race for the small gem. Sort of seems like a recipe for dust with young siblings. It was great with just me and one of the kids though. Just wish they specified whether an already eliminated player is even eligible to get the ruby or if it is just for the players still on the board.
