Grids & Guides (Gray): A Notebook for Visual Thinkers (Blank Deluxe Clothbound Journal with Grid, Dot, and Graph Patterns, Great Gift for Designers, Architects, and Creative Directors)

Bought as a gift for my team. They love them. The grids and patterns are very cool and inspire lots of creativity.

This review is to comment on the usability of this notebook with fountain pens. I'm a huge fan of Leuchtturm1917 dotted notebooks due to paper quality (smoothness/thickness) and comfortable use. The paper in Grids and Guides is beautifully thick and shows little bleed through using a Medium Aurora nib (see photos) and Noodlers Ink. Photos show the reverse page with regular writing and a space with heavier use (asterisk). On other pages, both a fine point Maica gel pen and a Fine point sharpie pen show NO bleed through whatsoever. In comparison to Leuchtturm1917 and to Moleskine paper, this is not as smooth (slick) but pen still glides beautifully.Overall, I am delighted with the variety of guide pages. When taking Bible study notes the choices are extra effective for memorization/visualization of the concepts being studied. That said,bim not sure I would use this to take notes during a lecture or sermon simply because speakers often move through a lot of info and I take many pages of notes. The change of format on every page in this notebook would make that a challenge for me though maybe not for everyone.A few other comments: The cover is a linen texture and while hard, has some flex to it. The cover picks up lint like crazy. Would love to see these with a smooth cover. My only hack was to buy a stick on Pen Loop for my own convenience. (Some brands offer these as an add to match their notebooks but I just get a generic set on Amazon for WAY cheaper.)Overall I will buy another of these when I'm through this one. It is a joy to use.

I bought this originally at the museum of art and design in NYC, and I can't get over it. It is beyond durable and I use it both to draw and to take notes. There are so many creative ways to write and draw in this notebook and I'll never give it up. I'm even writing part of my visual arts thesis in it! I lost the one I've been using most frequently and the current normal notebook I'm using is terrible - I need this back!!Genuinely, take it from an artist who draws, writes, doodles, and takes notes in class, this notebook has it all

I really like this notebook, it’s unique and makes you want to save it for something more worthwhile than an EDC scribble your grocery list kind of thing lol. Minus a star because the pages are not coated and will bleed through. Other than that, really cool notebook.

I have to admit I wasn’t sure when I was getting when I ordered this book. But needless to say I was very very happy with my purchase. It has so many different style of pages and printing. This book is a doodlers paradise. I love it and I bought an extra one after seeing how great it was. I noticed there were two other kinds also one in red and one in black, and I purchased those also and was very happy. They are not the same inside, each of the books come with different designs. It’s a win-win for me.

Beautiful notebook. I use mine as a journal and it is perfect. The color is slightly lighter than it looks but its a simple, clean light grey. The outside is almost a canvas texture, so it will stain. It is not a hardback, although it is stiffer than a typical paperback book. The pages are vibrant and quality. I have noticed my pen (Pilot V5 RT) bleeds through a little but its really not noticeable. the grids are visible but not distracting from whatever you may write over it. Will recommend to a friend and will probably buy again.

Got it as a Christmas gift for my brother who is an architecture student

I love these books. The only readon i gave it 4 stats is bevause i dont like how the information pages are thin. The font ia very small.

I adore this product. Even better in person that it appears online. I plan to buy two more copies. Highly recommend.

Excellent quality. A few pages of facts throughout the book with information worth storing for pub quizzes/gen knowledge quizzes.
