BARKLESS Short Snout Dog Muzzle, Soft Silicone Flat Faced Muzzle for French Bulldog Shih Tzu and Pug for Biting Chewing Licking and Grooming, Allows Panting

All the people giving 1 Star haven’t bought or tried this muzzle. Muzzles are not Inherently bad, they are a training tool and when used properly can be a positive experience for your dog. I bought a large for a pretty small (30lb) bulldog and it fit well.If you know anything about muzzles, you know that dogs need adequate pant room and that they need to be secure. If you know anything about brachy breeds you know how incredibly difficult it is to find a muzzle for them because of how their heads are shaped. This one comes the closest to any I’ve seen.Pros-It doesn’t rely on the dogs snout to hold the muzzle in place, instead the top of the head is used for support.It’s easy to put on and adjustEasy to keep in place.Very easy to clean.It also has good air flow and my dog can drink easily.Cons-it’s only available for smaller breeds, I’d love to be able to get one for a larger brachy.It’s pretty soft material, I would love one that is a tougher material for bite risk dogs.It has some, but not enough, pant room.Overall- I believe it’s important to muzzle train your dogs in the event that they have to be muzzled in an emergency situation. plus, Brachy breeds are known for being overly dramatic. This makes training a short nosed breed easy since you don’t have to put pressure between their eyes. We’ve used this for training and a nail trim so far and I am impressed. I really wish I could get a bigger one for my other dogs.

I am not sure why the name includes "Barkless" ...it's named Barkless; but not described as being barkless - so I just think it's funny because my dog barked plenty after i fitted her in the muzzle - for about 15 seconds- in protest - lol...but then she wrestled with it quietly - really concentrating (i suppose) and after about 90 seconds - she laid down - realizing this one is NOT like the others she has removed in less than 30 seconds...i love this muzzle - it is firm and protective - yet pliable and all the openings fit perfectly...I was actually glad she barked - because I knew she was breathing and nothing was too tight...this muzzle is truly effective in calming my dog down -she gets excited and rambunctious, which is fine - but biting comes with it and I'm the target; and the more I resist - the more she likes having me as a target - lol; but this muzzle is so effective - she does not wear it very long - but long enough for her calm to be real and not a ploy - lol... see now that knowing she cannot take it off is half the battle of her accepting it ...when I take it off she remains calm and she now realizes it is not going to hurt her - this morningI find that I am now a pro at putting the muzzle on... as she insisted on using me for her bite game; she resisted and i was still able to gently scoop her face into the muzzle; but once in she calmly let me attach the fasteners and she laid down and began to nap!! of course I removed it immediately and she remained in a resting state...I have had it less than 24 hours - used it twice last night and once this morning -a total of 3 times - each time less than 3 minutes ...I love it - it is safe, user-friendly and effective for altering behavior without feeling like punishment ...thank you for offering this muzzle

These are only to be used for up to 15 minutes, I hope everyone knows that, it doesn’t really seem logical to even torture your dog with this object.I think learning to train your animal is more important, but we all know how patient humans are these days. Poor dogs.

I need a muzzle to put on my Shihtzu at night so he can not bark. This one is made very well. My dog can breath. The few I had of other brands broke too easily. But it’s too tight around his ears, and still too much room left around his mouth, meaning he can still bark. It will work for dog with a bigger flat face.

I haven’t bought this product but I don’t think it is safe for Brachy dogs at all. They over heat easily and this thing looks like it would make the overheating worse. I would never buy it.
