Yes. Easy to fill. The seed never gets wet because of the design. The birds feed by pecking up for seed. We bought the squirrel barrier, so no squirrels, and the birds love it. We bought a second feeder it worked so well!

Contrary to answer above, yes, the bottom-most tray has small drain holes.

Q: Has the problem with the screw coming loose been resolved by company?

I've had two of these feeders and the screw did come loose on one of them...BUT....it could be my fault for not making certain that it was tightened securely after filling. The good news is that replacement parts are available from the company if you need to repair one. Best feeder available.

Q: I received no assembly instructions. I've cleaned it and can't put it back together -- and looked everywhere online. Please point to source.

Been there...done that....I can direct you but once you have the instructions....don't lose them...life will be easier.....go to Duncraft Bird Feeder sight. Insert in their Search box.....All weather Feeder. Numerous feeders will come up on your screen...the one you're looking for will be there. They also do a "live chat"...so, having dealt with these folks for many years, I think they'd be kind enough to send you the instructions that should have been with the feeder when you bought it....it's a great feeder....with the instructions, I"ve cleaned my many times....the first time was a "bear"...use the instructions.
