This light was such a huge improvement to my pool that I ended up putting in the spa light as well, despite my original intentions not to. The color pattern is easily selected by flipping the switch that controls the light a specific number of times - I think the controller is a neat idea, but I really don't feel like I need it - I'm pretty partial to "Romance" mode in the pool and "Royal" mode for the spa so I don't change it often.I also have to mention in this review that right after the installation of the spa light, the pool light would flash a few times when first powered on - this in no way affected the operation of the light, and it runs flawlessly afterwards. Still, being curious, I asked Pentair support if the flashes meant anything, and not even 2 emails into the conversation, Tim Schell with Pentair support had arranged for me to receive a noise filter and new gasket to be installed at no charge, and without my asking for a repair. This is the type of service that keeps customers returning, and I feel that it bears mentioning. Very happy with this product in particular and Pentair in general.

After fishing the cable to the box and trying to screw the light into the nich, I can't get the light to fit properly in the nich, the screw just wont tighten the light to the pool wall. I had a Jandy water color light in the nich prviously and I can't get this light to fit the right way. So it has a gap of about 3/8" between the light and the wall. I am adding to this post, I think I threw away all my money on this light, away for 2 months came home to see the light not working and has water inside. Only green light comes on. The maker of this light should be put in jail.

Recommended by my new pool people. It was installed in an existing pool so they had some challenge, pulling out the old cable, etc. The light is amazing and we bought the control unit that operated by a cell phone app Superb

Bought an open box, box was beaten up however the fixture seemed untouched.Replaced a 20 year old incandescent fixture. New fixture does not sit flush in the niche, something is interfering, leaving a 1/4" gap on top. Have to bust out the goggles and go underwater to figure out if I can fix that, but for the time being it is good enough for me. Installed spa & pool lights with intellibright controller and 100W transformer. Overpriced for what it is, but it works as described.

We had our 12K gallon pool resurfaced and the light replaced by this one. Our pool contractor put it in. We like it very much. It is very easy to use with a regular light switch. We will be installing the remote that goes with it when other construction is finished.

Had pool company install. The light did not work. I bought this light to save energy. Amazon shipped the light in its original box. Not a good idea. Both lights I bought were damaged. Pentair will not come out to fix it within the first 30 days. Its a pain to contact them. The amazon paperwork states you can not install the light for refund. However, you have to put it in the water to test it. Never thought two lights would’nt work. If your box is damaged at all test it in the pool before installing. Test it before installing. If your pools empty submerge it in water and test

Don't trust YouTube when they tell you the Pentair light fixture will fit in a Hayward Niche. The return was seamless.

Well, I bought this is September and had Pinch-A-Penny install the light, transformer and controller and here it is February and the light no longer works!
