Glucomannan Powder 100% Pure Now Foods 8 oz Powder (Pack of 2)

I was skeptical when I saw an article about this product's ability to curb hunger but for a few bucks, I thought I'd give it a try. I quit smoking a few years ago and replaced the cigarettes with food. Taking this as directed does leave me with a fuller feeling and I eat less - quite a bit less. Here's a couple of tidbits that might help someone else out there. The first time I took this, I had some pretty impressive stomach cramps and diarrhea several hours after my first "dose". I didn't trust it to take it again during the work week without the comforts of home so I waited til I had a few days off to try it again. Second run at it, I started with 1/4 tsp in 8 oz water with which I had no trouble. I did that dose for a couple of days with no problem then upped it to the recommended half teaspoon and am happy to report that I've had no problem whatsoever! I'm usually in too much of a rush to blend this into something and have found a way to actually enjoy this quickly at home and at work. I bought the 20 oz Blender Bottles and keep one at home and one at the office. These bottles have stainless mixing balls inside. I just pour a half tsp of the glucomannan in the mouth of the bottle then pour in my single serve drink mix of choice powder, fill it with water, close and shake! It tastes great, the shaker ball bottle keeps it mixed so you dont have to chug the whole thing at once and its low maintenance. I highly recommend both the glucomannan and the Blender Bottles! Try it!

Just received this yesterday, (quick shipping!) and used it this morning to make homemade syrup for waffles. It was great! It thickened it without over gel-ing it. I have only used it in the one application so far, but it worked as I expected. Would certainly order again.

Arrived new and fresh. A great addition to smoothies or to juice to fill you up naturally to aid in weight loss. According to the research I read:"Glucomannan is used for constipation, weight loss in adults and children, type 2 diabetes, blood sugar control, and lowering cholesterol." This is a natural product derived from the Konjak root (a type of yam). It's totally filling but must be added to a cooler beverage due to the immediate thickening when added to hot products. (sprinkle it over like you would salt to what you put it on so it does not start 'jelling'. I still add it to a cup of broth and then cool it somewhat before adding the Glucomannan powder. ( It actually thickens the soup to a heavier broth!) I then follow it up with 8 oz of water for a true filling effect.

I am using this product while being on the Trim Healthy Mama weight loss program. It works to bind food together without calories and has appetite suppressing qualities.

Kudos to those who can drink this with plain water. It tastes horrid. Imagine dead chicken with fiber powder on it and you have to lick it. The gel tablets are much easier and do not have a taste.
