Every house. Every door. Almost.
Has a yale lock on almost each door and linked to my home kit. I seldom use the actual august app unless I need to recalibrate because once they are inside home kit siri takes care of the rest. I wish they worked with the ADT alarm system, and some versions do if you get the Z wave versions. I just migrated to the deadbolt after having to replace a regular one because it snapped as one person was entering and another was exiting. I called yale support and they replaced the lock no questions asked. I have tried Schlage and Kwikset smart locks and to have been in the business for hundreds of years you would figure that they are the leaders, but yale has the absolute best smart lock and customer service on the market.

The absolute best smart lock on the market
We have tried every smart lock for front door. Airbnb access there is. This is by far hands-down, the best smart block for automated Airbnb access on the market. Believe me we’ve tried them all. Extremely reliable, user-friendly, and integrates with Airbnb software seamlessly. If you need help setting up this locked, it can be a little bit technical but after your first one or two, it’s like riding a bike. If you need help setting one up visit brettlark.com and contact me. Have a wonderful day and blessings.

Do Not Purchase
Since the day this lock was installed, it never worked quite right. The biggest issue is the serious battery drain. It started out the batteries would last about 3-4 weeks and need to be changed out. But that progressed rapidly to how bad it is now, where I am replacing them literally every week. So essentially this lock is simply used as a regular KEY lock without the ability to use the keypad.I will be replacing this lock soon. For back story, when I purchased this lock i had broken my leg and was in a wheelchair for a few months so it was hard to get to the door to open it and I wanted to use the remote features. While my leg got better, I am still a slow walker so I have to walk to the door to open it. I paid a lot of money for this lock, but after 2 years I will finally be replacing this lock very soon. If I didn't have mobility issues I would have probably returned it sooner but it was just inconvenient due to my health at that time I will NEVER buy a Yale lock again.

Connecting to WiFi Struggles
Setting up the Yale Assure SL was simple.. BUT setting up the Connect Bridge was frustrating!! I spent a whole day connecting, and disconnecting the Connect Bridge trying to get it to connect to the wifi properly. Everything would go smoothly in the process til you get to the step after you put in your wifi password. The app would fail while "connecting the bridge to the wifi" It would then ask you to move the Connect Bridge closer to the router where it would magically NOW connect to the wifi.. Next it would state that it's "testing the signal strengths of the bridge and the bluetooth" in which this would fail again. BUT for some reason the Connect Bridge would now show up in the app as being connected when you click on the gear in the bottom right of the app (even though it's not actually connected)..What this meant is EVEN though you could use the app to control the lock, it only worked via bluetooth (meaning you'd have to be within close range to use the app).. Within the app the wifi status would always be stated as "unknown".. You'd then have to disconnect the Connect Bridge from the app in order to attempt reconnecting it. No matter how many times I did this I could NOT get this thing to connect to the wifi.So I called customer support and we went through the process again. AND now I can connect to the wifi properly! For me the simple fix was using a different phone lol. I was using the app on an old OnePlus 5 (Android) phone. The customer support rep DID state that the easiest way to connect would be with an iPhone, but unfortunately that's not an option for me because I'm an Apple hater.. So he advised that I try using a phone that was running a newer version of Android (My OnePlus 5 is running Android v10).. So I grabbed my newer phone running Android v11 AND PRESTO! WIFI CONNECTED!Other tips that the customer support rep told me:- The Connect Bridge ONLY works on 2.4GHz networks- Network passwords with special characters (?!@#$%&, etc) may cause connection issues(I have a "?" in my network password and it still works FYI)- The Yale Access App and the August App are the exact same. You can use either/or.. Doesn't matterwhich one you choose to use. (I'm using the August App FYI)

Smart Lock not so smart
This is a garbage lock. It doesn’t stay connect to Apple HomeKit, or the august/take application. It keeps disconnecting so I can’t even lock using my smart phone. Which is the whole point of a smart lock

Download the correct app first
Works better then the other brands of locks my friends have purchased. The batteries last a few months with lite use and the auto unlock service works 90% of the time which is good enough

Amazing
This item is amazing, you can use either app yale or august. I had bought 4 already!

This is just good
It does what it needs to when I ask it. The only issue I have sometimes is when it will randomly die on me. I will have a brand new set of batteries in it but it will just work for a few weeks/3months then just stop working(no low battery warning either.) very inconvenient when it does that. When it does do that the emergency 12 volt that you put at the bottom to enter the code just doesn’t work. So it has its pros and cons for just me at least maybe mine is defective. All In all 7/10 in effectiveness.
