Update: this is my go-to sympathy gift now. I write the deceased name on the wind catcher at the bottom, and people really appreciate this gift.I bought the Woodstock Inspirational Amazing Grace Chime, Memorial Urn for my sister after her husband died, to keep his ashes in them. She greatly appreciated the thought. It is a very lovely sound when the wind picks up and the chimes start going. She likes to think that her husband is talking to her every time she hears the Woodstock Inspirational Amazing Grace Chime, Memorial Urn chime. the wind catcher that hangs out the bottom of the unit is large enough to put something special on it. You can write the birth & death date of your loved one on one side, and their name on the other. My sister lost her dog to cancer shortly after her husband, so now her 2 boys share the urn, the wind, and the front porch where it resides.These chimes are supposed to play the tones heard in the beginning measures of Amazing Grace, only if it's really windy will you catch the tones in order, but none the less, the chimes are lovely looking, lovely sounding, and a lovely sentiment for any one who has suffered a loss.The chimes seem to be of great quality. She has had them for almost 2 years now, and they still look great. You will not be disappointed if you purchase these.

This is a beautiful and very well made wind chime. I found them in a local shop and the sound is unbeatable. Granted they are a little more costly but worth it. If you can see it on the inside of this wind chime there is a small metal container. This is meant to put loved ones ashes in as a memorial. I know there are many of you out there who when ever they hear "amazing grace" they think of those who have went to a better place. Amazons prices are lower than going to the actual Woodstock website, but again, there you can hear the product before you buy it.

This is a great way to remember loved one. When it Chimes I'm reminded of my husband. The sound is lovely.

I love these chimes. The sounds they provide are enjoyable to me, relaxing and soothing. The tones are clear and beautiful. I have two of them, and have bought others as gifts. The Amazing Grace I bought as a memorial for my son. Of course, it doesn't just chime the tune, but the notes are there. The breeze determines the sequence. They are sturdy, too. The Bells of Paradise has been playing for more than 3 years, and still looksand sounds beautiful.

My mother passed this week and we honored her wishes to be cremated. I wanted to keep a small portion of her ashes and searched for SOMETHING which I felt would represent her. I found these chimes and knew they were IT. She loved wind chimes and Amazing Grace was a favorite hymn. I had a sense of panic when I open the package and saw the state of the box itself. I was immediately concerned the chimes would be damaged and I would not have a place to keep her. Thankfully the chimes were not damaged and sound beautiful. Shame on you Amazon. Yiu should have done a better job of packaging these. This would have saved me a moment of heartache.

I got this as a gift. I have the same one that I got when my aunt passed away. The soind is lovely! I love mine, and I know that the recipients of the gift are going to be beyond pleased as they lost a daughter in a car accident. Wonderful idea!

Bought as a gift for a memorial. Can’t go wrong with Woodstock Chimes. They are in a basic cardboard box—presentation is nothing special. But once they are hung, they are beautiful!

We bought these chimes in memory of our dog. There's a small space at the top of the chimes that holds a small amount of ashes. We have placed it in the front of our house so everytime we hear it, it brings back the memory if him. The tones are very soft and soothing and we know he's still there, standing guard on our front porch.

If you want to give someone an incredible gift - then this is perfect. We lost our son and purchased a set of wind chimes that had a small urn where we could put some of his ashes inside. Every time the wind blows we feel him near us. For this reason we purchased this set for people who had just lost someone very special. Both of them said how much they loved the way this gives them a sense of peace and tranquility. When someone dies, we often feel like we want to do something but we don't know what that is. THIS IS IT!!!
