Great! Lightweight and durable.
The media could not be loaded. This titanium long handle spoon has quickly become a favorite in my backpacking kit. Weighing just 17 grams on my scale (a bit lighter than the listed 19g), it’s incredibly lightweight! The extended handle is awesome—perfect for reaching into both small and tall meal bags without getting hands messy. It also works great for eating out of a taller thermos!Highly recommended for anyone who values lightweight durable gear.

Pleasing to eat from
I was concerned about the feel of eating with the more square corners but truthfully it was more natural than a conventional kitchen spoon

superlight but sturdy
I started looking for a long-handled spoon because some things are done better with a spoon than a spork--for example spooning coffee grounds into a filter or tea leaves into an infuser. This TOAKS spoon uses lightly thicker 1.2mm titanium than the other brand selling an otherwise identical Ti spork, which also costs 50% more, and which is only 0.8mm thick. The TOAKS spoon and TOAKS spork are listed as 8.5" long, and measured exactly that. Both the TOAKS and the otherwise identical more expensive spork are exactly the same 8.5" length, as you can see in the photos (photos are of the sporks but the spoon is the same). That other one is claimed to be 9" (it's not). The slightly thicker 1.2mm titanium sheet the TOAKS is made from results in a more sturdy feeling spoon, the bowl especially, than the 0.8mm otherwise identical spork which flexes more. The TOAKS spoon weighs 19.2g while the the other brand's thinner metal spork weighs 15.1. You can also see in the photos that the TOAKS handle fluting has softer edges in the transition between flat section and fluting, though there no functional difference that results other than TOAKS being stiffer due to the more substantial construction. (For comparison, a Snow Peak Ti spoon is 2mm thick titanium sheet, though they do not offer a long-handled one.)The polished bowl is a nice touch and makes it feel like normal silverware in the mouth. The TOAKS Ti long handled spoon and TOAKS spork are for using with those deep bags you eat reconstituted freeze dried meals from. It's much more appetizing than it sounds once you're out there in the woods at evening, and you can find delicious freeze dried meals now. Reaching into those deep bags with a regular spoon or fork and the annoyance of getting food on your hand from the side of the bag is the reason someone said why not make a long spoon or spork. This special use is nice, and important for some who use these meals, but I find it useful for all functions I'd use a spoon/fork/spork for.

I put my hand up on the spoon, when I dip, it dips, we dip
This is a simple thing to review because it's merely a spoon. HOWEVER, I will say that I am VERY happy with it. When on a recent canoe trip, we made a giant pot of trail ramen and everyone looked around on how we were going to stir the pot. I whipped out this beautiful long handled spoon and became an instant star. Sure we could have grabbed a stick and used that but we won't go there. When we were eating, I thought the fact that eating these long noodles would face an uphill battle with the rounded bowl of this spoon but because the profile of the spoon is a bit more squarish, those long slippery noodles were held strong while I slurped them up. Yes, I was not as refined as those that were on the trek with a fork but I had a single utensil while they had an entire kit.I had concerns with how the matte finish on the handle would be to clean after eating something that was sticky. Well my fears were for not as we put together a scrumptious trail cheesecake. The sticky/oily cheesecake was easily transferred into the pie hole that awaited it. I channeled my inner Tootsie Pop owl as I wondered how many licks it would take to clean this beautiful long handled food shovel and found that it was, in fact, three. The negative I do have about it is that because it's so long that I have to store it in my pack outside of my mess kit. While this is not a huge issue, it does cause some fumbling around while my stomach is calling me out to be more organized.

Very lightweight and long for reaching down into food pouches.
Very lightweight and long for reaching down into food pouches. It will bend easier than expected, so not quite as durable as I expected. Still worth the weight saving and I like the length.

Toak long handled spoon - works for me!
Sturdy enough for me! Smooth bowl is nice. Long handle reaches the bottom of MRE's, canteen cook pots, AND peanut butter jars when they're almost empty! I call that functional.

Perfect Spoon
This is the best lightweight backpacking spoon available for getting into those tall freeze dried dinner pouches. Checks all the boxes....lightweight, simple, strong, good mouthfeel, grippy handle. I have used Lexan spoons in the past, but the Toaks Titanium beats those hands down!
