When I first heard I had to take this class, I had my doubts about this book and the new material that was added in comparison to the old book. Once I received the book it was not so bad. I enjoyed the illustration which were very detailed and it made the study material quite enjoyable in compare to other books. What I liked most about this book is all the information was straight and to the point. No unnecessary info required! All you need to know and great pictures that also helped me relate to my job, so I know exactly what they were talking about!!!! I would definitely recommend this book to any healthcare professional.

Whenever a new edition comes out, I like to purchase my own for constant review and referral duringthe years it is current. The DVD that comes with this book has helpful reenactments to help visualize the flow chart in most situations. As true in previous editions, the book is layed out in such a way to promote easy understanding and reinforcement.This edition definitely is worth buying due to the new changes. It's just not the same old same.Further, the time it took to get the book and the condition were both excellent.

The right book. The right information. The right price. Clearly presented with regular testing to reinforce learning. And, a DVD to demonstrate procedures and machines with which you may not be familiar. For me, it was a very good review of practices I have been performing for the last 40 years with a few new little technological twists. The basics of life, however, haven't changed since time began: that baby has got to breathe.

Though their evidence based practices are easily ten to fifteen years behind the rest of the world, this book is fairly concise and easy to use. If you haven't taken NRP classes with Karen Strange and Newborn Breath? I wouldn't recommend using this book with ANY OTHER class. Look her up, bring her to your area. You won't ever certify with another instructor.

The information in this book is the best. I am a NICU nurse and so I have to renew my Neonatal CPR . On the job there are many times when I have to use these very techniques on our little patients. By studying this book you can keep calm and know what to do in an emergency.

This is the first time (that I know of) that I have purchased an American textbook that had been sold overseas and then sold back to the American market. I think that the publisher intended to price the book for the Third World, but capitalism takes over. Anyway, it was a lot cheaper than the domestic version, and arrived from India intact and complete. Even the DVD works perfectly. Should I feel guilty?

I got certified in NRP years ago. I wanted to have my own book for it, just so that I can keep myself knowledgeable and review as necessary to still feel like it's fresh in my mind. This edition is nice, an easy read, and great to have around for review and reference. I encourage all to purchase if you want to feel more confident in your skills, or just want a book around for knowledge renewal.
